Re: Dramafail
That was a really good concept and a pretty good execution of it. >__>
Although I didn't care for the music, and with all the Shinkai characters blurred out, it's like it wasn't even Shinkai!

Re: Dramafail
I liked the beginning.
I liked the end.
I didn't like the middle so much it seemed like alot of filler and fluff.
In counclusion, your video could be best described as having the shape of a brachiosaurus.

Re: Dramafail
The only thing that disappoints me is that I totally didn't make this video.
Or maybe I did.
So I guess I'm not disappointed at all
And in all seriousness, aside from being really pleased with the music choice (definitely my favourite Akvarium video to date, which speaks volumes given the fact it wasn't even made by a Russian), it's hard to ignore the fact that it's a simple, straightforward, concept-oriented video that takes a source which is kind of problematic for actually bearing out the concept and makes it actually work very well. Some blatant filler aside, it really works on the important levels and actually makes masks/effects count for emotional effect (which I thought is handled and connected really tastefully at the end of the viedo) rather than just visual-wank factor. And they were also pretty good at making the video look both distinct in some way and, at the very least, not lazy.
So it's not a problem-free video and it's nothing entirely surprising drama-wise, but it works and at least for me, exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see.
Otherwise, I would also mostly subscribe to the fact that it's pretty much like something I would make, only less lazy and more patient as far as betas went.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Glad to know I could play some small role in wiping out over twice as many people as there are in the world...Soup wrote:After i watched this i went on a rampage and killed 15,000,000,000 villagers, Good job.
Can't argue with that much. It wasn't filler, I had a reason for putting the middle stuff there, but it doesn't mesh well with the music so I can see why you wouldn't like it.Cap'n Toddenfreude wrote:I liked the beginning.

If you want, you can submit it to cons under your name. I think the WTF factor would be kinda amusing. Especially if I also submitted it to the same cons under my name...Otohiko wrote:The only thing that disappoints me is that I totally didn't make this video.

idk... it was all right, I really liked the unconnected feel you gave the main character. I don't know what the lyrics are so I can't really connect them to the scenes. The vibe it was giving off fit well to the music though. Maybe post a translation or sumthin.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
