Final Vandread XIII [Trailer]
Here is my latest video. But with a twist. A trailer. Using the audio from the new Final Fantasy 13 Trailer. I think I did a decent job on it. I tried my best and had fun doing it. Most fun I ever had making a trailer actually. I haven't done many trailers in the past so this was a treat for me to edit too. Anyway, crit is always welcome. You can read more on the vid description.

Re: Final Vandread XIII [Trailer]
Lip sync looked like it was done for the sole point of lip sync. The lack of variation in scenes, and the overally static nature of the video hurt its atmosphere. I
mean, the lip sync wasn't bad, but it had its few flaws here and there.
:26-:36 really had me sucked in the video. That was really well done. The character's emotion matched the emotion she was speaking, which the rest of the video didn't have as much of.
I think the point I wanted to make is that lip sync videos shouldn't rely solely on Lip Sync. Creative Black Space comes to mind, and even though it had great lip sync, it had other scenes in it that made it have a central concept.
2:36 and after also just looked like on long scene from the anime, and really didn't sync well with the audio there.
Even though you can tell its a trailer, it didn't have the gorgeous scenery or "ZOMG EPIC" that the original trailer had. That's really the point of trailers. To show off a video or series in such a way that it looks compelling enough to want to go see.
This video seemed to be more like a technical use of lip sync and not much else.
I usually don't give numerical scores, but this is one I'd give a 3.5/5. It was a good concept and had some good ideas, just not enouch sync support to pull it off.
Also, I didn't know Tohru's voice was going to be in Final Fantasy XII!

Re: Final Vandread XIII [Trailer]
Thank for the review Code.
Yeah, I went into this knowing I would have to do a lot of lip sync. But I also knew that I just couldn't rely on it. And since most of the anime is spent on the Nirvana and very little on planets, sadly there wasn't much scenery to show, unless you like metal pipes and deserts. Adnt eh like 1 waterworld that they land on for like.....1 episode then oiu never hear from it again. Haha.
But, I thought those black spaces would be good like you said. I didn't want it to feel like I was just throwing footage in there. That one scene you are also talking that just looked like one long scene. It wasn't the same scene. It was edited to a beat you probably weren't listening to at the time and it was switching scenes based on that instead of the commonly heard beat. I was mainly lyrical and Back-Beat Syncing. (If that's what you call a beat that most people normally don't listen for.) Also, during the heavy sound effect parts, I was mainly synching to the sound effetcs and not so much the music once you started hearing all the SFX towards the end.
Still though. I'm glad you enjoyed it a little Code. Thanks again for the review.

I'm sorry you didn't like it, Enigma. This is my third trailer after-all. I'm still trying to improve. But thanks for watching at least.
If anyone else has anymore crit that they would like to give, feel free. I would be more than happy to attempt this trailer again sometime down the road, and so any advice would be helpful.

That was cool until a point, I actually laughed all the way to like 30 seconds in. Then it got boring until the robots came in, then it got me laughing again. Not sure what you were aiming for, but hell, it worked in a way..

Quite good! I've never seen any of the FF series, but I certainly liked this vid. One thing for sure - lip-sync was done perfectly! Nice job.
