Judging from Antonio's info, I think KC would get pissed off if he visted this place. I'm still a KC fan but I believe now it's time to move on.

Doesn't sound like an equipment-related retirement to me. Other messages of his implied that he edited while working as a software engineer, just as Antonio said. He also mentioned the point at which he switched to NLE, so he seemed to be using his own equipment.

Equipment he started with (consumer-level stuff): http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amv/message/40
His own comments on Believe: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amv/message/4635

Ashton: It's been posted numerous times. Search the ML for "user password".

non-linear editing
You know, two vcr method and all ^_~

He probably meant with 2 monitors, a time base corrector, an editing board, two vhs or s-vhs players..etc..

Let me clarify:
non-linear is computer based editing
linear is analog more or less (though you can use digital media) since you have AB roll and you build it just laying clips end to end on tape. Your ends is the means, and the master is your only copy when you finish.

I think I just dated myself....

Did I mention I used beta decks when I edited linear? There...NOW I am done fossilizing myself

It's an FTP server, the login info is the web address. FTP servers should be entered as such in your navigation bar.

ftp://login:password@users'sip

Example

ftp://go:here@231.12.53.423

Some people will use a mask so the IP is instead entered in words rather than numbers.

Antonio Zalles wrote:[sighs]

[insert explaination in here]
It wasn't only that Antonio, but i couldn't deal with all the bullshit these NEW video creators give to 'newbies' because they think themselves as good editors. quite frankly, i dont want to be assosiated with any of that. so i left. i left behind all these egotistical attitudes and went off on my own. is that so bad? im sure most of you out there too are realizing the assholes this community is creating.

i'm not dead. i'm just... 'away'

and for the 'newbies' dont take any of what anyone says to heart. if you want to make a good amv, put some time into it.

im sick and tired of glancing at this forum just to see another thread about me where everyone is fighting.
