Damn, thanks so much, it makes me really happy to read proper crit. ;-;Code wrote:Gotta say.. You did it some pretty awesome justice there.
Not in the LEAST what I was expecting, but I think that's a good thing.
I loved the conststant movement of the video, it wasn't static for very long EVER, which is a lot similar to PATD's style, which makes me really feel like you did it some pretty awesome justice. And in that context, you did a pretty good job creating a nice flow and atmosphere with the video. There were a few kinks to the flow like in the intro [see below] and in some random scenes [like the pool kicking scene], but the overall 90% or more of the video was spot on and done extremely well.
The white flashes early on were really unneeded. Kind of distracting. If you wanted to beat sync there, I think actual beat syncing the scenes would have done it better. Or heck, forget the beat sync there all together and just go with the flow and try hitting just one stream of music or lyrics.
Scene selection as awesome. While a lot of constantly overused footage of Toradora was used, you also had a few surprises in there as well.
Also... The opening kind of confused me. It wasn't synced to the beat and used a lot of random scenes [train dancing?].
So despite my several complaints, as a huge PATD fan, I really enjoyed it and it'll be going into my collection for quite a while.
