Any anime with scenes of a character breaking down...?

So, I know that the following song... "Breathe Me" by Sia has been used by plenty of amv makers. But this song is undeniably beautiful, and I wish to practice with it.

I'm looking for an anime with scenes of a character crying, being in need, scenes with them breaking down... fighting, needing someone by their side and/or someone reaching out to them... or them reaching out to the person. Something of the sort. If you know the lyrics to that song, you'd know what I'm trying to get at.

(I'd prefere it if the char was a girl, but it could be either.)

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ^^

x2 on Air, popped into my head immediately.

Similar scenes in Kanon 2006 during the last few episodes I believe, when Ayu looses her little angel thing. Another scene occurs when Shiori tries to cut herself and then breaks down real bad. To be honest, all girl characters in that series have a major breakdown at one point.
In Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid, Kaname breaks down on the rooftop. Cool scene.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time also has a scene of the main character breaking down on the rooftop.
I think there's a small one in Honey and Clover.
In Clannad, Nagisa breaks down on stage. Actually, many characters break down A LOT in that series. No joke. Just watch the series if you haven't seen it yet and you'll see what I mean. Basically perfect. Yeah... just...damn, I need not say more. This series is great for what you're looking for.
At some point in Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Winry breaks down and begins to cling onto Ed. Good scene.

I'm still open for more suggestions of course, until I find the one that I'm looking for. =3 But Taite, I'll definitely look into all of them... and I get a feeling I'll be picking one of these, lol.

1. Clannad: Both Nagisa and Kotomi break down and cry in two different episodes. Actually, I think Nagisa breaks down in two episodes (one on the stage, the other when she finds out about Fuuko.) Kotomi breaks down in one after she sees the bus crash.
2. Eureka seveN Pocketful of Rainbows/Good Night Sleep Tight Young Lovers: In the movie, Eureka falls to her knees and is having a bit of a mental breakdownm after seeing Renton shot in the hangar. She lets out this massive scream too, but when she screams, it shows only the Gekko airship.
3. The Vision of EscaFlowne: After Hitomi sees Balgus killed in the second episode, she has a small mental breakdown and her emotions transport her and Van elsewhere.

Also, forgot to mention: In the E7 movie there, Renton decides to punch Hap and Stoner's lights out after seeing them abuse Eureka. This is how he gets shot, but I just thought I'd mention it since you're also looking for fighting via insanity.
