I have played Katawa Shoujo Act 1 and Autumn. VNs in general ain't really my slice of pie and Katawa Shoujo is probably the only one I look forward to.

Also, I believe the positive variation of "sick" would be spelled as "sic," iirc.

I can find a direct link between positivity and sick. I am a doctor.

so is rad being used in the negative here?

It seems unlikely that someone would make a proposal that boiled down to is this "good" or "good"

Perhaps rad is on a slightly higher level of positivity than sick is.

Can anyone draw up a "positive adjective line graph"?
Radical is short for rad. Radical is usually negative. However, I believe in the 1970s rad became positive. Its usage was roughly identical to far out.

May I suggest the Partridge Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English for your perusal.

At this time I have no data on the relative rankings of different word choices in order to generate a reliable line graph, but as a qualified English instructor, I consider Dr. Star's above graph to be accurate for use by the general populace.

I believe I can explain the origins of the positive form of "sick", if anyone wants to see me ramble...

About five years ago there was a commercial on television in North America for an insurance company (?). In it, there is a meeting for investors where they discuss new products worth investing in. One man begins talking about some greenish shoes that they were considering investing in. He said that his son called the shoes "sick", and said "Must be a new word for cool." I think that the "hip and cool kids" did not understand this commercial, and began using the word as "awesome".

how did my references of slang words for good and bad over-rule the topic of this thread? lol
to clear things, I meant sick as in sickeningly wrong, disturbing.. & rad (radical) as in, good, awesome, addicting, entertaining, etc. but yes, sick can be used as a positive slang sometimes too. but radical is always a positive word imo, would you honestly describe the worse thing in the world as rad? xD

plus, I wondered if japanese boys/girls were really as magical as the anime depicts them to be. probably so..but inna realistic kinda way.. *sighs in a day dream about me and Kai Utsugi together* lol (and also that if anyone knew a cute japanese boy that fits the description of Kai irl too YOU CAN EMAIL ME HIS ADRESS.) lmao. >_> lol

*sniffs* hey man! it's love! xD jk what? a girl isnt allowed to dream about a cute guy a bit? sheesh! lol but if I found Kai on a pillow, Id buy it, yes.

That's quite a list.
You do well in owning Crescendo, its music is great and the story pretty interesting so far from what I've tried

So he has to be japanese

And radical in my language (that happens to be written exactly the same) is actually used in a positive way. Not that is really used in my country, but it is. If it's written the same way, and has the same meaning, I guess we can agree on the intention of the word.
The fact that we're discussing whether they're positive or negative gives us no clue to the real point of the topic
