you're right. When I watch a movie it is about quality, not the length. Movies take hundreds of millions of dollars to make, and cost money to watch. This took a shit and cost me piss.dantetheonly wrote:i've spent more time trying to get people to watch it then actually getting reviews... its not like you never spent almost 2 hours watching one movie...lets see you start watching it at lets say 1:43 you'll be done at what 2:48? five more minutes to write a review and your done...and trust me its worth it...but you wouldn't know unless you watch it...stop judging the book by its length, its supposed to be judged by its quality.

kickass331 what is your problem? You've already said how you feel, so get off of his thread. There is no reason to repeatedly tell someone how much you dislike their video. I admit that even I was a bit blunt when I said how I felt about this AMV, but all you're doing is flaming his video.

it's called haggling. You make a deal with someone, the more you attempt to persuade them, the more likely they are to give in. It's just like telemarketing, or door to door sales.kireblue wrote:kickass331 what is your problem? You've already said how you feel, so get off of his thread. But there's something you're not realizing here. Now, the reason of why people watch AMVs is that they:dantetheonly wrote:okay, my mom hasn't seen it, and 2 so the F***k what? its a movie its supposed to be long. And you're telling me you don't have an hour to spend out of your life?
a) Have to be interested in it.
b) Are familiar with the editor and have liked their previous work, so they're willing to at least check out this new AMV
c) Like one of the anime used BIG TIME and are fulfilling their craving for more of it to aid in their obsession.
So, here's the thing. Its because your video had no plot, was filled with way too many effects, and was almost an hour long in length. People are leaving these comments for the purpose of your improvement in the future.
If you wanted to make an AMV to all of these songs from an album, make separate AMVs for each song.
I'm sorry, but your video just needed to be more compelling, rather than placing random clips with random music and random effects.
I would call your video random, yes. I'm sure you spent a lot of time on this and I applaud your efforts once again, but you have to know that its the quality of the AMV, and really not so much the quantity.
Think of this AMV and its comments as a stepping stone for your next AMV. Learn from your mistakes and all that. =)
EDIT: Regarding your point about relating a movie-watching situation to this: there's a difference. Movies have plot, and there's always a problem and a solution. Your AMV was more of a tribute than anything, and again, a rather random one at that.

There is a plot but you wouldn't know that unless you watch it...and i appreciate your...."Opinion" But until you've made the effort to watch i refuse to consider it Valid. thats like me judging your amv and i only watch the intro....I'd atleast watch half...but you didn't even do that much.

You will be respected when you follow the unwritten rules. You can get away with ignoring the unwritten rules, but these rules are unwritten because people judge people based on their senses. The collective senses of you and your peers, the sense of authority, your sense, and the interactive sense. I like bullshiting bullshitters.dantetheonly wrote:im not treating anyone ike dirt, i just want to be given a chance...

Re: One of the sickest amv's of 2010 (Colors-BTBAM)
There is no plot. Not a visible one anyway. You can tell us all how there is a plot until your fingers are bloody stubs on your keyboard, but after watching 20 minutes (yes... 20 whole fucking minutes) of this video I can safely assure you there is no plot. Your effect use is also very gaudy, try to tone that down a bit, or if you don't then make sure you know how to use effects before you use them in your video.
Second of all... the dual subtitle thing you had going on was so incredibly BEYOND distracting and annoying that it begs me to question what you were thinking when you implemented something like that?
Maybe if there were some theme...or something in this that not only YOU recognize it would grab some interest, but it's very apparent when watching this video that you (very bluntly) don't know the first thing about editing, which is sad, because I DO applaud your enthusiasm and drive to make an hour long video, now if only you'd develop your concept and editing style.. maybe we'd have something.
Start smaller and work your way up.
edit:
P.S. Don't listen to anything Kickass says, he is not a representative of us at the org and never will be, he is just somebody who crawls around here making everybody ask "why?"
