Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

just downloaded this, okay, before i state anything relevant; i must comment on the argument displayed. sorry, but i feel obligated.

irrelevant
It reminds me of the old days when people actually still had fun making amvs
this is completely biased towards your opinions, and deciding that most of the org edits for "popularity" (just because you may edit for improper reasons doesn't mean you can legitimately speak for the rest of the community) is not too advertent, and frankly is coming off as pretentious. but entertaining others? perhaps, but that doesn't exclude entertaining their own self.

personally, i had more fun editing to the amv i'm currently in the progress of than i ever had in the entire time i've had this as a hobby. "old days"? obviously it's still present.

relevant

okay, this was a pretty nice and simple amv.

it was synced nicely for the most part. the color correctors sorta' bothered me, along with the fading/black flashing here and there. also the blur around 1:46 was oddly placed, and it didn't seem to alter as the scene went on, although there was panning on it as well that could have been a bit more smoothly applied. the glows; it'd of been nice if they would've last longer on the scenes that had them but it's not really too significant.

the crossfades were all used pretty nicely. i also liked how you kept a bit going after the song ended. there wasn't too much to criticize about. the syncing could have been more thorough throughout certain segments but maybe that's just my personal preference. the amv didn't necessarily stand out to me, but it's nice to see simplicity. :up:

i'm quite unsure of why you felt the need of quoting my entire post. but anyway, nya hadn't made that post when i originally started typing mine. regardless, i would've included that in my post either way. because as i already stated.. :roll: i viewed it as an obligation to respond to a certain amusement. funny how you pushed the argument to an ending and altered you tone just because you got boggled down with more than one person and couldn't handle.

done, feel free to pm me if you must continue.

i apologize, shirker.

I don't see what you mean there... all i stated was MY opinion, yet you went on about how people have there opinions... yet when i state my opinion its automatically bad for some reason?

Well, s--t. Unsure why an argument broke out. Meh, I'm not gonna address it. Assumptions were made, tempers flared a bit. Hopefully it's over.

Sorry, still don't know how to efficiently Multi-quote on this site so....

@Mecklez:
lol, thanks. Heh, nah, I'm sure lots of people here edit for fun, even if they've got popularity. RoosterTeeth (a Machinima group) are pretty much in cahoots with Bungie studios, but it seems like they still have a blast making Red vs. Blue.

@Taite:
Well thanks for taking the time to view it. Honestly, I didn't wanna make syncing a big priority. In fact, after the opening instrumental, I was just gonna have gentle fades throughout it. But when the vocalists entered and Rico's eyes opened at the same time (completely unplanned by me BTW), I figured I should atleast attempt to throw it bit in there for consistency's sake. Heh, bland I couldn't help, sorry.

@Nya-Chan:
Ah, eff me. I'll keep the AR stuff in mind next time. Sorry about the effects. It's a little quirk of mine. When there's questionable violence or lyrical content in my AMV, I tend to make 2 versions: An "altered" and "unaltered" version. I show this stuff to my friends and family y'know. A bit of self-censorship if you will. That way, there are two flavors of the AMV pie... yeah, I'm kinda retarded.

@Keish:
Yeah that spot at 1:46 is my mental deficiencies again. But yeah, thanks alot. Nice and simple was what I was going for.

When I post another "solemn" AMV, I'll try not to make simple synonimous with "bland." Thanks for the feedback guys and gals.
