Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I got through 10 mins. Not the worst thing I've seen, very far from the best. While I may not have enjoyed most of the video that doesn't mean you weren't trying and that doesn't mean you're not allowed to like it. What I did notice most was your effort, you were attempting to sync and pull off effects I think you just aren't advanced enough right now to pull it off completely, but if you are the kind of person willing to dedicate the time to make a 30 minute long video and show effort throughout then I think you would be the kind of person to show effort in order to improve on what you already know. Of the 10 minutes I watched here are my main complaints, I will provide an example of what I personally consider good in that category or ways in which to improve on each area in my opinion.

1) Subtitles in a video - Though I see at the beginning you only used the subs for the portion of the video with the overlay of the animes audio it is not a good idea to do so. This only brings the point home that you have used downloaded footage (which at this time is still a no no here on the org) and since you used multiple animes in that section the font is inconsistent and at least once the text didn't switch fast enough so you were stuck with the previous lines for a few frames. The subtitles you posted yourself for the lyrics of the songs kept moving around due to your frame size constantly changing. Something I'll touch on later.

If you plan on doing something similar in another video I recommend writing out the subtitles yourself and keeping them consistent.
Example:

2) The effects you used were stale and overdone. Changing colors is really not a good way to highlight a note more than once. Even if something is synced seeing the same thing over and over again just gets old and boring to most viewers. Flashes also can be overused as they were here. You need to learn to change up you editing style, especially with a video at this length to keep the viewer interested. I do think flashes, when used correctly and in correlation with other things can come across well and look fine here is an example:

3) The zooms you did didn't look right at all. They were either zooming too far in or just too fast and became very obvious that this was a mach zoom after the fact. Try blurring in as you zoom to make it look clearer. For an example

4) Your lip sync needs work. Also this video had alot of lip flap going on. Which is when a characters mouth is moving but it is not synced to anything. The character is talking in the clip so the viewer is expecting it to sync to the lyrics of the song when in fact it is just proving as a distraction. Mixing lip flap with lip sync comes off even worse because it undermines any effort you did to with the sync in those sections. There are ways of covering up mouth movements through masking, though if it were just a small amount and not in a video featuring lip sync I don't think it would be completely necessary. Your lip sync needed work as well, for alot of the scenes it seemed you placed a character talking and moved it around so it sorta fit but didn't really. Perhaps if it weren't in a video next to so much lip flap it wouldn't come off as bad. For an example of what I consider good lip sync:

5) A/R changing. You have a video here which features a lot of different sources with different aspect ratios. The problem with this is when you combine them together the screen size is constantly changing. Such as the beginning of your video when you used the multiple anime all in the one section. You should crop and adjust the clips so that they are all the same and not constantly changing around. Do not just resize as this will look bad but crop either the width of the 16:9 or the height of the 4:3 before hand so you can make them the same without stretching the footage.

6) When you are panning around to make your screen jumble or move you must first zoom in that scene so that when it moves around the screen you don't have just a random floating box but instead it appears the 'camera' is moving around and shaking. Not to mention every time your screen changed sizes as did the subtitles of your lyrics to follow it. Example:

8) Your white flashes/scenes changing sides/ color... stuff. These effects can be good when used properly but the boxing off of one side of a screen even while it might be on beat just doesn't really look good. Here's an example of the boxing off of scenes, flashes and color stuff but that was in my opinion done very well and worked with the video.

9) There was no story.. Nothing I could pick up at all... Random action scenes to random action songs. Nothing to follow and nothing to keep me interested. I can't help you with this this ones something you need to work on for yourself. While I get you really wanted to make a video to an entire album it needs to be more than that. I would need something keeping me interested if I'm going to stick around, especially for 30 minutes.

It understandable why you are defending your work. And I'm certainly not saying you weren't trying and not giving your best effort. 5 minutes of it isn't unwatchable but 30 is, at least for me. And while I was able to get through 10 of it I did not enjoy it. Hopefully you will not let this discourage you and will take the effort and dedication you already have along with the tools the org offers to to better yourself in your hobby and make a video than can be enjoyed by hardened amv critics along with yourself. Good luck.

This shit is alive again?
It's been said 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times, I'll say it again. Bad editing, too long, your attitude is fucking awful, your chance of earning respect of anyone around here are just about 0 because you're being so arrogant about something you know absolutely nothing about.
In conclusion,
Fail.

It's not like the creator brought it back alive by going "YOU GUYS FORGOT HOW GREAT I AM." Don't be a fucking prick, there was no need to restate something that was constructive in no fucking way.
