Wow. And just one entry per person? I'm... impressed.

I'll be visiting Otakon for the first time this year. Looking forward to seeing how other cons run their AMV events. Would love to sit down with ya'll to talk shop and compare notes at some point. :)

2 week warning. Time to start using your sick days, people!

Also, first post updated with some Iron Editor stuff. We need a challenger who can kick Bryce's ass or at least put up a good fight. Free Otakon badge!

Do you have to use Premiere or do you have ULead? How about Movie Maker?
:)
Nah, just kidding. I saw last year's contest. I was rooting for Brakus, (nothing against Bryce), but Bryce beat him hands down. No surprise he's won the last three. Turning out something that good that fast... Looking forward to the show again this year.

I hope I'm not being a nuisance (I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who ever asks for this), but can you add Otakon 17 to the contests calendar so we can add it to our videos' database entries here? Thanks~

If you're going to compete, you're locked into using Premiere 6.5 or Premiere CS3. Photoshop CS3 and AE CS3 are also installed. For the sake of stability, you can't bring your own apps.

Otakon 2010 has been added to the convention list.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my video right now... but I have a question:

What is your recommended way of testing the video to make sure that you've got all the settings correct? I'd like to make sure that you'll see what I see in my video... but I know that different video players can sometimes play things differently. (brightness/contrast and even aspect ratios sometimes... mencoder seems to sometimes make flags that only mplayer reads...). In particular, I want to make sure I did the 3:2 soft pulldown thing correctly, but I don't know how to test that...

Hey Vic. I plan to be submitting again this year, but I just wanted to confirm something: my video won best drama at Katsucon. That won't disqualify it, will it?

Thanks much.

I'm not Vic, but I'd assume that that would be equivalent to a First Place award and therefore disqualify the video.
