Good calls on both. I've recently been rediscovering european-style lagers and it's slowly restoring my faith in that type of beer. When I first started drinking I liked lagers for their lightness, but eventually the taste started boring me and I also realized that they're basically just recipe for headache. However I'm finding that european lagers are better on both points. I love porters, even if for the fact that they're the complete opposite of something you'd drink to get drunk on. Just something nice to have with your dinner, rather.
Otherwise, in principle I'm partial to dark ales lately, but I haven't quite found a brand to really settle on. I guess that's where I really need to experiment moar.
