DragonCon AMV Contest 2010

Thanks to everyone who supported us in 2009. Although we didn't have a contest last year we had a two hour viewing of AMV's that packed the room. Thank you to everyone who sent emails and messages inquiring about the contest. As I announced at the viewing, the director was hospitalized along with some other personal issues which prevented us from holding the contest.

This year we are making some significant changes.

1) We are accepting downloads only.

2) We are adding a Live Action category.

3) Prizes and certificates will be handed out at the convention to participants that are present.

Uhm, the rules say the deadline is July 31, 2008. Are we to assume that it's July 31, 2010, or do I need to dig up my Deloeran?

Email your address to me and I'll send you something personally. I'm not sure what happened. I gave the infomation to the appropriate people and they were suppose to send out the certificates.

The main website still doesn't link to the AMV portion of the site. The only way that I know how to get to it is by the link in your first post. This link still says check back for more info http://www.dragoncon.org/contests.php#Anime

Also, which day will the AMVs be shown? I already sent in my submission, so I would like to be able to attend. And lastly.........I assume that a Dragon Con badge would be necessary to get into the room right? Its a shame that Dragon Con doesn't have single day admission.

I'm going to submit to this year's contest, but I still need to produce a version of my video with a 2 second black leader. Once that's done I'll send it in.

Over the past few years we have had a huge room at 11:00 on Sunday night. I don't check badges at the door but on certain nights you can't even get into the Hyatt without a badge. I know it is down a corridor but I can't remember if badges are checked to get into that area of the hotel.

The leader isn't necessary since I announce each video before it is played.
