Hi Resolution screen grabs

Post by JazzyDJ » Thu Jul 15, 2010 7:30 pm

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'll post it here. What's the best way to capture hi res photos for cutting out and masking for rotoscoping? Vegas's frame capture leaves it too blurry and slightly smaller, and the old print screen button is even worse in that area. Any suggestions?

Image sequence dumping. VirtualDub can do it (and so can ffmpeg, if I recall correctly). Just select the frame or the sequence of frames, and use Export->Image sequence...

Vegas can do frame capture perfectly, just make sure you have the video preview panel set to "Best (Full)" and save it as a .png.

Uncompressed Bitmap, TARGA, JPG, or PNG. You'll get each frame as a separate file.
