This is partly because the unofficial titles can always change, and for that matter, the community can often be divided over which title to use. I hate to point out the 800-pound gorilla, but some of the perception for unofficial titles is driven by what the fansub groups use, and they generally don't always agree on things either, which makes Japanese priority better for unlicensed material, IMO.

If we're going to use roman letters, let's at least make Japanese primary. Otherwise it just gets too confusing when titles change because of either a shift in community consensus or because of a change after licensing.

I fully admit I am biased. I am unsure of what my opinion would be if I could only speak English.

Based on my own opinion, I would tend to go:

1) English for all Titles with a Official English Title (i.e. released in English) with possibly Japanese title reference in brackets)
2) Japanese title for ones with no official English title with possible reference to English title if know by it depending on Space)

Kionon, I understand your view, however this is site's language is primary English so to me it does not make sense to go with Japanese titles only

KannaDZUki. Romaji fail.

tsu with ten ten becomes dzu and su with ten ten becomes zu, and the pronunciation is slightly different. Ten ten changes BOTH the t to d and s to z. Not directed at you, at all, Dax, just a general observation of why romanisation can be a total bitch.

I use modified Hepburn most of the time, but eh. Learn2Kana. It only took me about two weeks to learn hiragana and katakana, although I struggle with learning kanji anywhere near a reasonable speed.

I'm not using anything since I can't read any Japanese lettering.

I'm using one of the official English titles, but since it's been re-licensed that title has changed...

A debate that amuses me, as both are wrong, since moon uses tsu (tsuki), ten ten makes it dzu. A z vs d argument totally misses the point.
