Like I thought I dunno if we need to overplay it, that one may just be perfect as just an awesome one shot. I get the feeling she needs a sort of lead-in though. Kinda like how I had Hughes step forward with the mic before stomping the puddle just for a little bit of scene establishment.
HAH, yes, Renge is all about lead-ins.
She is mellow at times... actually, hilariously so and I think it can work, although I'd like to keep the first few clips (before the kids) just because it's an instant reminder to those who recognize the scene that she's actually singing to children.

I'd like to send that audio through soundforge and bring out the highs and mids though. It's older audio at lesser quality with a lot of muffled base, which as we learned at fanparodies... well... sucks horribly and nobody will hear jack. Plus we'll normalize it so it's as loud as it can get so the crowd can hear it.
I think we should make it a practice of normalizing all of our clips if you don't do something like that already before final render Deuce. This year seemed pretty good, but if we use less professionally remastered audio clips like this we gotta be careful to not have audio get distractingly up-and-down. I normalize all the audio in my clips, but for some reason I think they had the base cranked as part of the problem in that room. The thing that really did it was the Beck metalocalypse clip. You couldn't hear any singing really. Or maybe I have the highs and lows reversed as the problem... either way I don't think it was balanced well, among other issues.
