That was in Pro two or three years ago. There's a reason #60 is titled "worlds *second* worst lipsync"

Really appreciate everyone doing reviews, I hope to get mine out soon, although I did have a chuckle at Cenit's:

There have been other dance AMVs about STDs? :O

What's the point of mentioning which editor you think did a video if you censor out the name? Why not just cut the sentence altogether?

Probably her own notes that she edited later to exclude the name. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Though, in one case, it WAS by "CENSORED".

Considering the comments from others I think it'd be interesting to read the 'flames' myself. This is the first time I remember this much participation on video impressions across the board. I like it. Lets keep it up :D

Because the contest is supposed to be blind and I think that's the most fun part of it, seeing a video and not knowing who made it but trying to use your knowledge of peoples editing styles to guess who made which video. Yes Ileia's correct anything I put in brackets were things that were in my notes but I removed before posting. When the contest is over I plan on looking through the list and seeing how many I got right, but I don't think I should post who I think did which video, even if I'm wrong it would still go against the whole blindness thing. As for not taking out the whole sentence I just went through my notes quickly and tried to get rid of names, categories, and any instance I noticed myself going off on a non-vid centric rant or bashing the video without saying anything constructive. I didn't bother to rewatch anything to give people feedback or rewording my sentences, just remove what I thought shouldn't be posted. Maybe if I enter next year I'll keep in mind when making the notes that I might end up posting them publicly.

There have been other random dance amvs ... better edited as well. Thats all. It was ok but there is really nothing about it ... just another dance amv showing nothing more than the other 999.999

Like I said in my comments, that video is all lyrically driven. If the song wasn't about gonorrhea, then the video would indeed just be another random dance scene video.

Well, I took a lot of notes on paper, but I really don't feel like typing 3/5 50+ times, so I'll just highlight the ones that I thought did an above average job and a below average job.

Everything else literally got a 3/5, with the comments "needs more work/focus".

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
[Spoiler'ed, because I didn't realize how long that was. :uhoh: ]
Spoiler :
02: 1.5/5 - I can already tell I'm going to hate this trend. Lip sync for the sake of lip sync is always bad concept choice, unless it's just really damn well done. Plus, the joke was funny for the first few seconds, but after that, it went downhill quickly. There's just ZERO variety in the footage and nothing to make it compelling.

04: 4/5 - Did a pretty good job here. It's just long enough that we can get into it without having to go "DAAAAMN. WHO CARES ITS JUST TUBES ". It also had a pretty nice amount of depth to it as well.

10: 4/5 - I really dug it. I usually hate black fades with a PASSION, but I really dug them in this video for some reason. The concept behind it weren't anything conceptually outside of the movie's plot, but the execution behind it was pretty nice. I wish there was a tad more depth to it, but on the whole, it was a really great and enjoyable experience.

11: 1.5/5 - I literally don't know if this was supposed to be a comedic or serious piece. As a comedy piece, it was too serious. As a dramatic piece, it lacked scene variety and flow.

14: 4/5 - That was a really well conceived/executed piece. I wish that the lip sync was a tad tighter and the scene selection just a little differentiated in a few key places, but on the overall it was quite enjoyable.

15: 2/5 - As much of a Yugioh fanboy as I am, I gotta admit it was painful to see just one episode used to that long of a song, without much concept/impact behind it. There was a few good spots that made it savable, but it still needed some work.

17: 2/5 - The grain effect was just painful to see and it lacked key movement to make it flow well.

19: 1/5 - Again, lip sync for the sake of lip sync [especially bad lip sync] is never a good thing. The concept you were going for wasn't executed very well either, and it lacked key lyric sync or beat sync to save it.

20: 3.75/5 - Ha! Cute. Pretty good editing, but the scene selection needed some work, and a little more focus on beat sync might had made one of the better upbeat videos here just a little bit better. ;)

21: 3.5/5 - A tad too literal at times, but on the overall had a good feel/flow to it that just needed a little work on execution.

22: 4.25/5.0 - Some scenes were a tad long, the speed/slow scenes were a tad too noticable, but on the overall, it was dramatically powerful and has a deep and powerful message. Unless it was meant to be funny, but I totally missed that entire vibe.

23: 4.25/5 - Shit. They have live action of this? Now I can cry in two different genres of film. XD Editing was pretty good, didn't care for the black fades. some transitions between segements were a little fast as well.

24: 1.5/5 - Lacks humor to be funny or the dramatic power to be dramatic. Scenes had little to nothing to do with the concept either, at least to me anyway.

27: 4/5 - Pretty good, that's pretty much what I thought.

29: 4/5 - HA. Ha. ha.... Got a good laugh and the editing was pretty good/interesting.

31: 4.5/5 - Kind of WTF'ed at the sex part in the middle, but on the overall, it was probably my favorite video in the entire Pro contest. Had good sync, good feel and flowed incredibly well. A few hairline fractures here and there though.

33: 4.25/5 - Wish they'red been more beat sync, but still a great Ippo video with some great flow and some great power behind it. Probably my second favorite video in the contest.

34: 2.75/5.0 - Probably the only one that did this source justice in AWA Pro, but still was about 2/3 minutes far too long.

36: 3.5/5 - I still don't get it, but still well done editing wise, I just didn't care for the overdone concept or that the editing was a tad random.

40: 2/5 - See above comments for all the other 20 kertrillion sleeping videos.

46: 5/5 - Captured the concept/power behind Valkirya Chronicles perfectly, editing was consistantly great, but I do admit that the ending was somewhat anticlimatic.

47: 4.5/5 - STill love it. XD Cute video, just needs minor touching up.

49: 2/5 - Effects/shaking overkill and obvious watermarks were obvious.

53: 4/5 - Still conceptually strong and unique, just a few hairline issues with the editing and execution.

54: 4/5 - LULZ LULZ LULZ. I can appreciate a great concept and even moreso a unique one. Good execution of it, I just kind of think there was a few issues with the editing.

57: 4/5 - As with all AMV Hells, there were some good ones, some ok ones and some bad ones. But there were also some frightenly disgusting ones as well. But still, it had some good editing/exeuction/humor in some of them. :D

59: 2/5 - Just.. Bad.. Even though fun/dance videos don't need concepts, this one just took any type of theme and threw it out a window. Many too scenes were far too long and poorly transitioned to, and the inclusion of the original animated caramelldansen was kind of pointless.

60: 0/5 JACKASS. DO NOT WANT TO SEE OR HEAR. :P
