interlace problemo

Post by Autraya » Wed Sep 29, 2010 5:21 am

thought i'd make a new thread rather than swap topics on my old one

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o231 ... erlace.png

this reminds me why i hate ntsc :p

Code: Select all

tfm(mode=1,pp=5,slow=2,micmatching=2,clip2=tdeint(mode=2,type=3))
tdecimate()
order is top

and only a few sections in the entire disc look like this, most arent high action sequences.
dont get me started on the over filtering (i'm doing nothing to the series other than tiny bit of sharpening, line darkening, crop, resize and removing some dotcrawl, tweak to reduce sat) :nose:

suggestions on changing the deinterlace?
new banzors in the making :p

Considering it's an old source, I think it actually is just a case of fields not actually having matches to pick from. You can either throw vinverse and daa at the section and live with the blending, or set the section for postprocess by having applyrange use nnedi2 (or better yet, nnedi3) on the scenes with it. Vinverse+daa will have, again, blending, whereas using nnedi2/3 will halve the actual vertical detail. See what looks best... if there's text or a lot of detail, I'd go with the blend, otherwise postprocessing would be better.
