Negima!?

The current plan is for the rest of the Magic World arc to be told with a motion picture coming out next year.

To me, the way the OAD and movie is being planned out (with the OAD starting all the way from the beginning of the Magic World arc) is a bad idea of telling the story in anime form. The two main reasons:

1. Personally, I hated the way the Magic World arc began (with everyone being separated, and most of the focus going towards Negi taking part in a tournament just because one of the students who decided to sneak into the world ended up getting sick and caused herself and two other students to get sold into slavery).

2. Cramming everything that takes place in the Negima manga from volume 24 to the current positsion in the manga (which is currently at volume 34) is going to result in a big mess.

Personally, if I was in charge of the anime, I would have summarized the first three-and-a-half volumes (save for the chapters focusing on Yue with amnesia, which will still have its own OAD) at the beginning of the first OAD, and have the first one focus on

the festival showdown of Negi, his Ministra Magi (save for Yue and Asakura), Kotarou, and Rakan vs. Fate, his Ministra Magi, and Tsukuyomi.

i would have just preferred a new series, kinda pissed that they left out the entire festival arc, the tournament + robot army battle = win.

.. I've already given-up on the series; this is taking way to long!

Its sorta like Harry Potter; kids like it and it was ok as long as there were
new releases to keep you interested .. .. but time has killed-off interest in
this both series.

.. seems a student is enrolled into another class:
a History Class dropped the name Negi and she started to feel un-easy, "god only knows why!" ... The 5th release OAD is now out

OAD 06 might not happen .. although stated 17 Feb 2011, it seems the last
OAD 05 "Yue and Collet" struck a nerve with some writers. Haven't heard yet
but, a possible Spin-Off series might be in the works ( which is favored by me;
considering that the Manga has our boy in wa-a-a-a-y over his head! ) and I
for one actually liked the "Collet" character. ( she reminds me of my older sisters. )

.. Can anybody verify if the OAD 06 was cancelled, please; I can't find it anywhere!
I'll even take it RAW and sub it myself -- if need be! kindly send a PM on the IRC please.

Here's hoping for the New Series and waiting to find-out its title before the Summer.

Update: on Ken Akamatsu blog entry: "the team is indeed making a movie version for theaters."

Link to this piece of news, as there's no mention to the "three OAD + 2 new episodes" movie on the Aquastar boards (my main source of Negima information)?

If this is the "big movie" that's being hinted about, then it's going to be disappointing, as that what appears to be the final Negima anime is going to end right in the middle of the Magic World arc (unless this is something done before the big movie comes out,

with the two new episodes focusing on Negi's crew meeting up in Ostia, and the real movie starts with the battle during the first day of the Ostia festival).

.. a year late and nothing like the YUE Specail!

The final chapter has been released. Much to the disgrace of its fans,
the final solution/conclusion episode is NOT worth bothering. Negi is
now the owner of a brothel graduating from 9th grade to 10th grade!
... and, I'll leave it at that.
