AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (Nekocon 14, here we come!)

After all this time, I cannot seem to be able to find or record my audio, so I guess my idea is out.

And I can't seem to think of anything after that, so I guess I've hit a creative wall...oh well, till the next one, maybe.

Well, even if something you wanna do doesn't fit the theme, we still accept general clips.
If your audio programs don't work, that really sucks.
I feel the pain.

First of all, don't give up so easily, it's not even the end of the year. Second of all tell us what audio you're looking for and perhaps one of us can accommodate you. If I'm able to get ahold of it, I can upload it to my website in a rar and you can download it, or any number of us might have means of getting it.

At the very least it's worth a try. That and it's a certainty you'll come up with at least ONE new idea between now and May.

OH ok, well, here's the audio I've been looking for.

You know that Mcdonald's commercial, where the parents and kids are kinda...opposing each other?

The kids singing a song, and he's like, "This makes me happy, this makes you happy, this makes me happier, this makes you happier, this makes me happy..."

I would greatly appreciate it if maybe someone can help me find the audio from that commercial.

Okay, have you checked youtube extensively for it by the way? I'm sure you've checked, but you know what it looks like, and I don't, so ^^ Either way, around how long ago did the commercial air, and were there any characters present, and what specifically was it advertising if you can remember? Was it a happy meal commercial or...? Any more specific info can help us find it.

I tried looking through the Google video search results for several pages using "makes me happy you happier mcdonalds commercial 2010" as keywords. Couldn't find the advert in question. I'm sure it exists somewhere out there. Still looking...

Yep I checked and the closest thing I can find, with crap quality is a youtube tv recording...it aired during summer this year and it was a happy meal commercial.

Hey Deuce, yet another anime convention popped up in the area I was completely unaware of, so I went ahead and e-mailed about showing AMV Salad 4. I figure this'll happen a few more times, so can I request that you somehow upload a high quality version of AMV Salad that I can have for conventions and such? This one is on the 7th next month, and it's actually all full, but I was told to go ahead and prepare it just in case there's a cancellation where I can snake it into the program.

The mp4 is an AACh264 (via ZarxGUI) made from the 2.2GB mpeg2.
I can make a new Zarx'd mp4 of full 720x480 resolution.
The other way would be to send you three separate files which split the 2.2GB file into eight-minute segments via Megaupload (which you'd have to splice together but I'm guessing that's not a big deal?).
Lemme know what you prefer as well as if you wanna show AMVS3 in front of it to fill time.
Hopefully this works out and we can add another con to the list.

As for everyone else, I haven't received a submission from anyone in a few months.
I realize the deadline is in May but I still worry.
Is anyone having trouble with this year's concept?
Does anyone think it should be something different?..more general?
I'm also accepting "regular" clips, just so you know.
Anyway, let me know if there are any concerns.

If you can find a way to take the 2.2 gig version and actually make it into parts like 7zip does, then that would mean I would get the high quality version without losing quality by splicing it together again. You can do the 3 mega-upload idea, but it'll just connect itself together again upon completion. I unfortunately am not too sure how to do that. One alternative is if you have a website of some sort, you can dump it on your server, and then just link me to the rar and I'll just direct download it from that site. You can even ask a friend to upload it on their site, since 2 gigs on a normal site is negligible. It just needs to be in tucked away somewhere on the server and I just need the direct link and it'll save a ton of hassle. Worse comes to worst, if it's showing on a laptop, the internet version will be good enough.

For clips, I have many, in fact an abundance of ideas that have made the cut. Some less funny than the others, but I am in a dangerous situation job-wise, so I don't feel it appropriate to start working on them until I have one. I can warm up with the smaller clips that will take like 10 minutes to make however. I have a couple of "I AM THE OTHER WHITE MEAT!" level ones to make.

Well well, Deuce. It turns out that there's a panel cancellation at the convention on the 7th here in Mesa, AZ and I was just asked to prepare a DVD for it. I need you to get back to me on how we're going to handle this so I can get this thing burned and tested and such and handed off to whomever it needs to be handed to. We got a slot at 3:00 to 3:50 so theoretically both AMVS3 and 4 could be shown, but to be honest I think AMVS4 is just that much stronger. Otakon knew of AMVS, and it had fanfare, but I'm not sure what type of response it'll get from an unfamiliar con. You'll be able to tell me better than anyone else. It's a very strange time for fan parodies so early in the afternoon on the first day of the con, but it's better than nothing I guess. It may also have the effect of being the only interesting thing on at that time and draw a larger crowd (if there even is one ^^ It is this con's first year).

Anyway, hopefully you're still checking this and we can work it out. Get back to me as soon as possible.
