SERIOUSLY??  |:> that's awesome. now maybe this'll motivate my editors to get me their finals for the rest of the project... *hint hint kaze*

Hey, I was the most motivational person here!

Sent you a PM about it.

Anyway, congrats everyone. Wow...I was so proud of my new video and thought it was really epic. Guess I was wrong. :?

Don't say that! I LOVED your video and I voted for it :)

VicBond007 wrote:I think Erika will agree, despite all of the practice, taunting, etc, Iron Editor felt like the two shortest hours of the year. I think if anything, we both proved that the biggest part of churning out a quality video isn't the time you spend editing, or even the capabilities of the software (I was still rocking the virtualdub/premiere 6.5 combo) but how much you put into the planning. I too plan to flesh out my IE video and release a full version, sans-secret ingredient.
Yup! If only my real job felt like that :P . I'm looking forward to your full version btw. It was quite good and I remember a few chuckles. Too bad we only saw it once. Either way, I was really glad to be a part of the event, regardless of the result. It was a much needed challenge, especially considering it's been over a year since I've managed to *complete* a video.
Bryce Winant is my personal hero for the year for making the Nostalgia Bomb block so badass, as well as for hosting Iron Editor and staying up until ass-o-clock every morning. The Personal Hero's Sidekick award definitely goes to Jeff for rocking the IE intro and helping a ton with the editing panel when the last thing I wanted to see at the time was MORE TIMELINE.
I'm glad we got to catch the second half of Nostalgia Bomb to the credit of hotel security mistakenly busting in our room at 2am, but still a little gutted that I missed Rescue Rangers song earlier. And I meant to ask about that IE intro. Indeed it was absolutely fantastic and thematic, so definitely hats off to Jeff! I don't recall one being so well done to be honest.

Drama/Serious
------------------
1st Place: Bloody Wheels Productions - Lonely Tokyo
2nd Place: pink haze - Trial by Drowning
3rd Place: Under The Box Productions - A Million Little Gods
Wow, so I came in third huh? I seem to have a habit of doing that. :P Guess my next video is gonna have to be that much better! *Starts rummaging through the latest Arcade Fire track*

...

j/k lol. Between this one and the one that didn't make it in, I think I'll just start sending in my already completed Arcade Fire/Cowboy Bebop video to cons while I hammer out something that doesn't use music by them.

I have to give props to Trial by Drowning, aside from my own (EDITOR SELF BIAS ALART), it was my favorite of the Drama's.
3rd place winners: I think that there's enough in the prize bucket to get ya'll a little something something too.
Hot damn! :awesome:

Looking at the video I submitted again, never mind it not making finals, perhaps Vic has a point. Maybe it wasn't very interesting as a drama entry. After I tweak the timing and balance it would possibly be better as an action vid. I know I tried to squeeze too much story into 3:30 and had a feeling it might have disjointed things as well.

Meh...back to work.

Given the large numbers of entries per category, I gotta say I'm pretty thrilled to have gotten 3rd place in both of mine.

It's interesting to see the third place winners - I always do wonder about that since they don't say at the con. Any word on who got runner up and third in best in show? I'm curious to see who was in the running - and slightly hopeful that I may have been. That'd be nice. :D

Any word on when prizes will be sent out? I ask because I may be changing addresses soon, and I'd need to know who to make aware of my new address.
