Their Ouran release was an upscale that was actually filtered (quite well in fact). Granted, with lines as thick as they were in that series, it's hard to lose detail - they never had much of it to begin with.

The Ouran BD was warpsharpened quite badly actually... it wasn't all that good of a filtering imho.

It was better than the stuff they had done previously. For them it was an achievement. More because of how little they could fuck it up than any real talent on their part though.

I guess I have to agree on that, claymore still is the worst they've managed so far, if the screenshots I've seen around fon't lie. :asd:

IMO Ouran was worse than Claymore. Claymore had the telltale pointresize artifacts, but it didn't have the MASSIVE over-smoothed line-thinned distorted mess that was Ouran's (un-)tactical warpsharp nuking. A BD is also meant to have more detail than a DVD. Forget the fact that it is sharper, with six times the resolution THE DETAIL SHOULD BE APPARENT. This doesn't happen with upscales. Ouran however has LESS detail, which despite the upscale artifacts on Claymore, at least it has the same amount, albeit blurred.

Notice the both vertical and horizontal streaking caused by point resize, and how utterly void of detail it is. A fair bit of blur too.

I was going to link the Ouran BD screenshot I have but I cannot access my main machine to find the link, and Twitter is being sucky at loading things from over a year ago. It looks like a goddamn watercolour though.
