I have a bunch of stuff made but only about half is really on theme...I just can't think of much stuff that would be.

Doesn't matter.
Not every clip has to be on theme.
Just as long as we have something to show for Otakon this year.

Oh we will....at current I've got 10 things of varying lengths made and a few more I have planned out and just need to actually make. Plus there's tons of time between now and the cutoff.

Also I can host files, if ever need be. I can set it up as an ftp you could upload to and download from.

Any of those ideas capable of being turned into a running gag? :D I have several general ideas, I haven't gotten started on any beyond looking at footage, and I now have a new job, so I'm scheduling out an hour a day to get things done, and hoping for longer stretches on my days off, but I have many things I need to do.

It may be expected that we do something commercial based for impact. I mean the Money was an impact-based commercial, and therefore had impact-based humor. We could attempt to find similar humor style with a recognizable element, but it'll be tough to find wide appeal outside of commercials due to them being nation-wide and many people have seen them. It may work anyway, since commercials happen between sections of a show and people have come to expect it for AMVS, but if something different could be done, it would be ideal. Head On had different styles of use, while the Money had different styles of impact. That's one reason they didn't feel like the same idea I think.

I do have one idea, but making it repeat could be problematic, but I'll mention it here right now and spoil it just to see if it could be fun.

I'm going to attempt something with Beck and Princess Mononoke, something I planned since the first year but chose other ideas. Basically during the scene where San feeds Ashitaka the jerky or whatever that stuff was, after he starts chewing, I'm going to mask in Koyuki walking up and saying "Can I help you enjoy that Snickers?" and then sing the song. I just had a thought where something could work if we were very very careful and good, and basically had the 'snickers' become something different each time. Something along those lines off the top of my head, basically any anime where a guy faceplants into a woman's giant breasts and looks up at the woman, like Yoko in Gurren Lagann, and just replace her line with "Can I help you enjoy that Snickers?" It becomes not only thematic, but also impact based over time. I'd say starting off the first time with the full song for the Princess Mononoke one would work, followed by the other clips being impact based and cutting off after "Can I help you enjoy that snickers?"

May be too inconsistent, but one way or another I'm planning on making the Princess Mononoke one. Whether I can pull it off with the footage is another thing entirely.

*snifffffff*
Smell that, kids?
It's freedom!
That doesn't necessarily mean "anything goes" but we could get away with some TV-MA stuff if we work it right.
Hopefully this will open up the possibilities for the rest of you if even by a little.
The extra publicity and promotion will certainly draw more new fans to the series.
We just need, you know...material.
It's almost February and I haven't three minutes to show.
I'm gonna readjust the production schedule in the first post according to the new info we were just given.
So yeah...let's get this thing moving...please?

I'm getting started now. I'm working it into my job schedule as best I can. I've already looked through a series that will provide two clips, and as we speak I'm sending it through a media converter. I need some help finding the full leprechaun skit from Wayne's World 2 though... it's about a minute long and I'd rather not risk downloading the movie for one skit, and I don't have a lot of money to throw around considering this job pays the bills and little else now. Can anyone help me get those lines? Does anyone have Wayne's World 2?

Also, Deuce, I'd like you to push for AMVS3 and 4 to show this year as well as 5. I know it may be a bit of a stretch, but it'll only be like an hour in total. 3 lost its chance for an encore last year, and 4... well... 4 just had such an excellent turn-out, by god I NEED to see that in a 2500 person audience! At the very least 4 needs an encore.

Edit: Actually Deuce, I had a couple thoughts. Do you think we could do another version of AMVS4 to turn in with some minor changes? A few of them are that I think we should switch the Commander in Heat clip and the Clannad one, since the Clannad one shifts gears from the gentle rubber ducky one a bit too much for those not expecting it, meanwhile Commander in Heat has a lead-in. Another thing is I really would like to get a sound in there for the One Piece Coming to America one. That silence really is a bit jarring and is hard to tell what is happening. There are a few others I had thought of, just to send to conventions, not to put on the org if that's difficult, but I think some very quick adjustments could make it even better.

Thanks so much! I only need the scene where Kassandra and Bobby are watching Wayne and Garth do that leprechaun skit on TV. I thought I had grabbed it from youtube, but I hadn't, and when I went back it was gone, and there was only a cut up version like I'm going to do, but it was cut in an obvious way and I want to try and do it more smoothly.

Thanks again! I'll have a day off sunday and monday which is when I intend to do the editing so no real hurry. This week it's taking hours to convert the media, since apparently DVDs aren't out, so I have a couple more days of doing that before I can get started in earnest.
