I am not good in voice or music theory but according to what I have heard it is instrumental since it is only making sounds and no words was said. just like a sound effect or background.

I agree that the voice is an instrument just as much as anything else, but for the purpose of marking a genre down i don't think i'd consider it instrumental as it does use a voice which a lot of people turn to instrumental almost to avoid it, it's not good enough that they can't understand the words, the words and voice should be gone altogether.

i wouldn't mark it as instrumental. to me, it's a tad bit misleading, but i guess it's up to you. I don't think anybody will care either way...

Okay, let's add another wrinkle.

If you're not familiar with Tomita, he was one of the early Moog pioneers. I grew up listening to his music (yes, I'm OLD) and I absolutely love it. Now, not only does he use voices as instruments, but they're *synthesized* voices. Thoughts?

Only problem I have with the idea "they aren't words so it doesn't count" is language barriers. I've run into some songs with operaic vocals that I'm not even sure if they are a language.

I don't understand Gaelic at all but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6miaTf1g ... re=related the voice sounds like music to me in the form of vocals. I could listen to that without knowing any of the words and it soothes and calms my nerves just like any other well down-tempo'd instrumental without vocals, maybe even more so.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson
