Loved the video. The song matched well with the scenes of Outlaw Star you selected. I hope to see more of your stuff in the future.

Oh man, I really wanna like this video. This song I've seen used well before. Outlaw Star basically hooked me on anime back in the day. I gotta like this video, right? I must be an asshole though, because I have to agree with previous gripes. Too literal? Is that even a problem? It shouldn't be. Even so, this is something I'd mock from the peanut gallery at a convention. Pretty sure my friends get tired of me sitting there (I make them sit through the AMV contests with me) and just saying repeatedly things like "get it, they sang the word explosion. did you see the explosion? get it, he's having a ball. there's a ball on the screen."

Hey I guess, when there's no orphan frames, cartoon network logos, interlacing, horribly sped up/down clips, subtitles, excessive lip flap, shatter effects, or lens flares... well I guess I just gotta complain about something. My bad. =/

Okay. I rewatched the video. I'm not a total hypocrite. I also rewatched the video I linked above. They have some of the same elements. "they're having a ball" "explode" etc. Thing is, your video... ok, if you don't want to tell a story that's fine. The song might not even lend itself to story telling.

Thing is, a lot of it in the middle is without context. Just scenes. Just... that's probably the "too literal" lyric sync some people have described. IMHO, ideally, lyric sync is NOT "they say atom bomb, show a missile. they say reload, show the gun reloading. explode, show a building exploding" That's some of the bad. Its not all bad! "gonna make a supersonic woman of you" That was funny. Notice the difference? It was a scene with a person in it! Whaaaat? You mean keeping a theme/flow or showing characters and their interactions is holding my attention?! The bridge of the song, wait, a battle scene? There was no "200 degrees" to randomly cut to the silhouette of a ship near a sun for a brief second and a half? That was pretty good! I would argue the best parts of this video are when there are no lyrics to sync to.

Overall a decent video, not great. Sorry if I didn't make any sense. Its 5am, I should probably go to bed. =/
