My sister quit her job last month and told me she was going to get unemployment or a new job.

She didn't qualify for unemployment and still hasn't gotten a new job. Now she's late with her car payment and rent and now needs to borrow money from me.

So, when I release a new AMV, I'm pretty much guaranteed to get at least a couple of comments between here and youtube, and have had a couple of fairly popular vids, so It's pretty great to get feedback on something I've worked hard on. But sadly the comments and such don't extend into the art world for me. I'll put a lot of hours into a piece and be very proud of it, but when it gets posted, I'll be lucky to get a few faves, much less comments. I may not a super awesome artist, but I definitely don't suck either, so it can be a little discouraging when the only pieces that receive recognition are the fanart that I do, especially because I want to make a living off of art [Cue laughter]. That's what I get for trying to post original characters and comics on DeviantArt, I guess. I'm not really asking to be the next popular artist or want to boost my ego, it would just be nice to know that someone gives a crap about the art I produce sometimes.

And in other news, I spent my spring break doing a crapload of work for my church for Easter related things, and ended up getting way less sleep than I usually do, even pulling an all-nighter. And now school has started and I still get to wake up early, and I'm fighting being sick to boot. I don't mind the work I did at all, but come on, summer! Get here!

PS: oh, and here's my rant for the day, and it's aimed at you men. You know, I'm totally cool with you ignoring the fact that I'm a girl and just treating me like another guy friend. We can game together, we can complain about women (hey, mud slings in both directions), and I can be your wing(wo)man and you don't even have to worry about me cockblocking you. But for fuck's sake, don't double standard me. Don't treat me like I'm a guy friend and then get weird when we actually hang out. Don't suddenly notice I'm a chick on days that I happen to dress cuter and push me away because you're paranoid I'm coming on to you. (So sorry that I was born female and I play up that asset - and anyway, you really have the self-conceit to think I'm doing it just for you?) Either way then, I lose, and that's not only unfair, but incredibly irritating as well. I typically get along better with guys than girls because of mutual interests, but I have very few guy friends because they all turn into morons the instant we get past a casual "hello." Moreover, isn't that kind of selfish? You automatically assume that because I want to be friends that it means I'm trying to get in your pants? Grow up, guys - and you know, I wish I could just blame it on you, but we would all get along a lot better if men AND women stopped playing stupid relationship games. This screws up potential friendships for the rest of us.

See, I have this same problem, just reversed. I have a lot of "gal pals" that completely seem to forget I'm a guy until I say something about the football score, and then they get all critical about it and start talkin gabout piggish men

Moreover, I'm just frustrated with my love life. Mostly because I don't seem to have one. My biggest problem is that I'm not in it for sex or some quick term relationship to get through the valentine season. I actually try to befriend and get to know somebody before I start dating them. Sadly enough, most women I seem to meet don't want long-term relationships. >_>' That, or the accounting department is just THAT slutty.

I couldn't help but eavesdrop on the conversation. On the women with man friends.....Men are just like that. They have egos to fill and think every chick that is friendly with them wants them. They will also push you away just stop talking to you because they are cold, and it's not to be mean, it's just they think in a linear path. You need to say "Hey what's going on here? I thought we were friends, if I'm making you uncomforatble in any way please tell me."

To the guy. People are in it for the quick term these days, but there are people who want relationship as well. You'll just have to keep looking and be straightforward to people to get what you want. Be up front and tell them what you want out of a relationship. If they don't want to be with you then at least you didn't waste your time.

More tornadoes today. Worst tornadoes of the season is what they're calling for. More importantly, however, is that the same towns keep getting hit OVER AND OVER again, and we're getting widespread flooding at this point. Thankfully, I think my county is out of danger tonight, except for some excessive wind and rain. I'm just really saddened/angered over the ridiculous devastation that's going around my state. >:(
