Re: CascadaThon 2- [3 SLOTS OPEN!] 5 FINALS RECEIVED! OP UPD

iCardioidAMV: I think you should beat sync more and that the scene at 0:34 wasn't as suitable as other scenes (when the girl is on the tree), but the important thing is that it should be way more faster

I love the style! Reminded me of Nostromo a little. I felt like I was on a journey. The scene at 0:19 feels a little out of place....kind of looses the magic.

I agree with pan on that scene, it is strange, and also, these scenes are very overused >.< and I'm not sure if this actually fits the theme of the MEP. But the editing was nice.

@riccardocasu:

I actually enjoyed your track. I tend to let the people involved in the MEP give the mroe valuabel input, because I can be a bit biased at times. Like at this track for example. It's my favorite style of editing and is hard for me to look down on it. I actually saw what you were going for and I think it fits the theme fine.

I see you went for the Spirit Of Adventure and the amazing things a world can offer. Such as the scenery, friends and the little things like rain and paper airplanes. At least that's what I got.

Am I right?

I think I saw a little sadness and unfairness in there as well. Like the bad things that happen on a journey alongside the good things.

Oh, and the effects fit very well IMO. I honestly think it could be ready for a final, but I'll wait on everyone else's input first. Because this is just awesome.

Then again, I could be biased. Like I stated earlier. I see nothing wrong with any of the scenes.

I'll wait for more input before I give the verdict on whether it's ready to be a final or not.

Definately.....it was also a music part so it's a good leading scene......

x3. While you certaintly can have slow parts in the track, the song is very upbeat so the editing should reflect that. You've got some interesting scenes down, but needs a bit more oomph. Also, the whole thing has blended frames >_o

Riccardocasu:
Not bad, but it bugs me that the whole thing seems to be made of OP/ED [Im not familiar with the show, so I could be wrong]. The editing is pretty nice, but like Mystyk said, scenes are overused. So Im a little torn.

I thought the scene at 0:08 lingered too long, something like a zoom or flash or something like that on the beat would help. I thought the scene at 0:14 needed something more to differentiate it from the rest if the track..this is where the music changes, so I feel like that should be reflected in the visuals. make it brighter, have an overlay?

Spoiler :
To me it looked as if you just threw some scenes together, added a couple of fades here and there, tried to randomly hit at some sync and just called it a beta. :| If you're having difficulties editing with the track, try going for scenes with one couple only to piece together some sort of story/concept. Then once you have your scenes then you can start syncing and adding effects and whatnot.

Ok I'm still in progress of watching EF: the latter tale but the first thing I'll ask is what the heck the noise/film effect is doing in here? EF has top notch animation with fantastic colours and it's such a shame to see it all covered up by some effect that makes it look like old footage when it's not. :| Also I didn't like the scenes were you did a rotation zoom in. It didn't feel right and looked out of place.
And everything else mentioned by the others you should probably consider/look into.

iCardioidAMV: The video is too slow. It seemed to me that you are more the "lyric-syncher-type" but try to hear the beats and place cuts on them. Bring more action in it! You can try zooms or effects or whatever...just make it equal to the speed of the music

riccardocasu: Pretty cool beta! But I also think that the noise/film effect is not needed here. Would be fine without it.
