Oh of course (not exactly weird) but the AMV I have with the most hits (solo) is the one AMV that has been in a contest. And that would be the VCAs (if that really even counts)

People like my older videos more than my newer ones, I wonder if its cause I tried too hard to outdo the others but in the end, sacrificed or lost something in the process?

I've noticed that, at the moment, my videos average star ratings increase chronologically. 3.3 -> 3.35 -> 3.42 -> 3.53 -> 3.6. So...I'm improving?

The level of enjoyment I got making the video is usually proportional to how much I wrote about it.

That people who leave full-length reviews tend to rate/star rate much higher.

For instance, when my Bebop drama vid was first released and I was really fishing for feedback, I got a ton of positive stars and reviews, and would make top 100 every other week for like two months. Now, its star average is down from 3.9-4.1 to 3.6-3.75. Still pretty respectable, but it makes you wonder how many people are sincere and how many are just being nice.

Also the vid I made in like 2 weeks is at 3.75 and hovering strongly. I'm reminded of this one youtube Naruto amv with spanish subtitles set to Through the Fire and Flames with no cuts, just a single fight scene. Several hundred thousand views and huge awesome reception. Most of the "4-5" star AMVs in this community that eventually spring up on youtube only garner about 20-30k on average for the same amount of time.

The moral of the story is there is an inverse correlation between time spent on an AMV and the general reception.

Also, pander. :ying:
