Actually Moonbunnychan, that is perfect for the type of stuff I'm thinking of. It may be unrelated, but we can actually make it related by setting up the chosen explosion in the first clip. Your use of Princess Tutu to introduce the Geico Money fit the profile of the Geico Money commercials, random person, random scene, then the money shows up when they look at it in confusion. You matched it, and after that, it had its baseline. All we need is a baseline for the explosion, something minor happening in a more normal environment, like "Wait! Don't touch that wire!" and then the explosion. This is one everyone expects, then use it in places that nobody expects, like the bucket and the volleyball. In fact I laughed out loud just thinking about the penguin in Azumanga. I pictured the scene in total silence, just a shot of the penguin, then Chiyo and Sakaki, then another of the penguin, then them looking on almost bored, then the penguin tipping the bucket with a barely audible *tink* and then a deafening explosion with the second impact.

Stuff like that is what I'm talking about. But we need to seriously try and inject some meaning into it if we can, like choosing an initial scene and explosion that has a fan meaning, like Second Impact is the destruction of humanity, the Sailor Moon explosion i think in one of the movies where darkness spreads across a city means that evil is conquering or something, so the clips could all be under the context "If this action is done, it causes second impact" or "If this action is done, evil destroys the city" and just start with something moderately ridiculous and go from there into utter randomness.

I still like the idea of finding shots where someone clicks a button or drops something, and then use the *click* BOOM! If you need to hear the audio, look back in AMVS3 at my Gundam clip.

I'm also reminded of the "Awesome!" explosion in AMVS4.
The explosion always gets a reaction.

I looked through AMVS4 thinking I was missing something. I don't remember an explosion in AMVS4 ^^

That's the exact audio I'm talking about. It's the same audio from the youtube poop I posted. I'm sorry, I ended up animating much later than I thought tonight, I'll get to the audio now.

davidkrein.net/ClickBoom_SoundEffects.rar

Here's a gift package for you all. It contains the full explosion section extracted from the youtube poop, plus each click individually in case you want it, the explosion individually, as well as some assorted random sound effects I tossed in that I felt could work in potential scenes as a preamble to the explosion if you didn't want the click. I think it'll be a stronger running gag if it's the two sound effects in conjunction, but if you can't think of anything, hopefully those will inspire something.

If you know of a sound effect you'd like to use and have video reference, let me know and I'll be able to extract the audio from just about anything.

I really hope this will work. If anyone has ANY ideas for an explosion that has meaning that is absurd like second impact, please post it. In the meantime, I may even say that Second Impact would be a decent one to go off of. Everyone knows Eva in some form, and even if they hate it, it's still a funny use of an over-the-top thing. But it doesn't read so much as an explosion, and the sound effect is shorter, so something more abrupt is better.

Minus the explosion clips and opening / closing sequences, AMV Salad 5 is now 25m06s.
I'm gonna render what we have so far and upload it tonight.
Then you'll find a download link here.
I placed all but a few entries in alphabetical order.
What I want done is for you all to watch and make suggestions on where each clip should be moved.
At least locate what you consider to be key segments and suggest approximately where they should appear on the final time line.
I have two clips of my own to throw down yet.
The half-hour mark is a lock this year. ;)

I did find audio for Kid Sister and Gaelstrom helped me clean it up so it's usable. I just have a few things to finish moving around to match the new audio, then I'll get it to you again.

This is a 955mb file (mpeg2).
It's 25 minutes in length.
There are also, I've noticed, quite a few explosions already (although part of the scene used).
Not impactful enough to distract from the gag in my opinion.
You be the judge.
And when I placed the clips in alphabetical order that means I tagged the file names with the editor name so don't be surprised at the groupings of clips using the same anime.
This will definitely be changed for the first actual beta.

Anyway, here it is...

Hetalia Small World is hilarious. So is the L you ring my bell. The rickroll one I'm sure will get a huge reaction. I also love the Kung Fu staring contest one and loled pretty hard at the 1800 contacts one and the prostitute one with the hippo thing (no idea what the anime is lol). Oh and also the Code Geass American Dad one and the Metalacolypse K-on one.
Also I realize my audio blinks out a second on the Touch Me one...opps. You can probably just cut that little bit before that out.
I do think the screw in the tuna one goes on for a bit too long though. It's very funny the first few times but then reaches wearing out it's welcome territory.
As for order...hmmm...I'll have to think about it. I know it's alphabetical, but it feels like a lot of the slower/longer ones are up front and it really picks up in the middle. Those tend to work better when they have ones that are a few seconds before or after them.

Some first thoughts:

- The screw in the tuna bit is way, way, way too long like moonbunnychan says.
- My Death Note Trollface should be cut by one or two seconds at the end. I've left that space in to allow for a good transition, but as you can hear there's another song starting in the background.
- 'Not wearing underwear' seems a bit choppy at the end
- Lol @ Lazy Town / azumanga
- Maybe cut a 'it's electric' from the pikachu video. There's a bit of the song that's repeated, as is the video..
- Lol @ Funky Town / Haruhi
- The sound on I can't believe it isn't butter is way too soft
- I liked the 'Touch me' azumanga cat
- Lol @ your breasts should be on display
- I really liked the bakemonogatari - stapler bit
- Same with the Wayne's world vid
- There's a bit of black video after the 'i was just hitting any note', before the american dad one

Location:
- Death Note Trollface should be put after a clip that gets long laughs, as there's quite a bit of 'normal' dialogue before the joke. Maybe after the rickroll?

There seems to be a lot of usage of old-looking anime. While there are probably a lot of people who like those kind of anime, I don't really do. If a lot of those videos are show after each other it looks a bit weird / 'cheap' in my opinion. This is nofi ofcourse, but you might want to space them out a bit.
At some points I just started skipping because it looked to dreary.

(This post came out kind of negative, but there certainly where a lot of good parts in the video!)
