re-clocking your DirectX for proper playback!?!! ???

Post by post-it » Fri May 13, 2011 2:17 pm

.. this is an old subject which caught my attention years ago. It
would have stayed a dead issue because it was never fully explained
how re-timing a video's playback can make it play any smoother!
.. We were always told to "just buy more memory" to solve this issue.
With a 300 Megahurtz Pentium Processor, I can see a memory usage problem:
The purpose of ReClock is to definitely get rid of jerky playback of AVI and MPEG material..
with things as they are today, 2011, is something like this ReAlLy NeCeSsArY?

No, this is not necessary today.
I think newer renderers like EVR in windows vista maybe solved the problem. I know I just havent seen any tearing in ages.
