Re: ANY INFO ON THESE ANIME?
uh well, assuming they ARE out on bluray. For the most part I think you're still looking at DVDs.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Re: ANY INFO ON THESE ANIME?
High School of the Dead comes out on blu ray in America next month.
Keep an eye out for Angel Beats too.
Toradora might come out dubbed towards the ending of the year.
If at all possible, buy COMPLETE SETS and COLLECTIONS/BOX SETS because they have all the episodes and textless OPs and EDs and you wont have to buy each DVD individually (EXCELLENT MONEY SAVER when I bought Eureka Seven). Plus, you save shelf space since you intend to buy multiple anime series.
Save the boxes, though. They look cool!

Re: ANY INFO ON THESE ANIME?
Just a heads up, when buying blu-rays, mind upscales. Funimation does an AWFUL LOT of upscales from 480p to 1080p, so it's just DVD resolution bumped up and postprocessed; depending on the postprocessing, it could be worse than the DVD.
There are, of course, HD shows too, but do keep in mind that the actual resolution for those is generally still 720p and not actually 1080p. Some might be 540p, tho. This happens because drawing actual 1080p detail is both harder and more expensive (since they also need access to hardware which not all studios have), so even when buying BDs, you'll want to downscale back to 720p generally.

Re: ANY INFO ON THESE ANIME?
Actual 1080p stuff I'd say it's mostly Ghibli movies, perhaps the Eva movies too (not sure) and something else could be (possibly FREEDOM since it's CG).
720p is mostly anything else you find on BDs, aside from most BONES and JC Staff shows, which are generally 540p (though there have been 720p ones too, I think a couple from BONES, for example).
Shows that are on BD in the US but not in Japan are upscales from 480p for sure and most older shows are 480p upscales even in Japan too.
That should be a pretty decent generalization, though there are obviously various exceptions in both ways (legit old source and upscaled recent sources).
