Looks like I'm going to have to see if anything in my library involves any sorts of gold digging or similar gold digging-like antics.

In one of the seasons of GiTS:SAC (2nd Gig, iirc), one of the arcs involves immigration, iirc. It's been awhile since I've seen it so I don't know how relevant it would be. Failing that, you can always use something like Scarface or Shinjuku Incident or whatever, since LA is allowed.
