Re: AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (Post-Production)
Ok, just watched the beta.
If you do keep the penguin, it absolutely has to come later, after the explosion thing has been established, otherwise it kind of ruins it and doesn't work. After watching it all, I think it may actually work if it comes close to the end.
Pacing wise...I like it. A lot. There's a slight slowdown in the middle with a bunch of long clips but that's all. The one thing though is that it seems like almost all my Sailor Moon ones are in the last like 15 minutes. Those should probably be split up a bit.
The jigglypuff one I still think is SUPER funny but still has an audio issue at the end.
Not sure about the jelly doughnut one. I may be missing the joke or something but it just seems sorta...there.
Love the whip my hair back and forth
The FMA one I just hope doesn't get red flagged lol. I mean, by all rights it's PG 13 I'm just paranoid from last year's drama.
I'm torn on the library one. It's SUPER adorable but towards I was ready for it to end long before it actually did.
Nice adding in the explosion noise to the Robot Unicorn one, but I think I'm still gonna fix it up a bit and make it a touch faster/bigger.
I love the hamster fluffy. It's so cute.
The Pinky and the Brain one made me for real laugh out loud.
I still feel like the screw in the tuna one could be shorter, but it's definitely much better now.
Knife wrench XD
Dunno how I feel about the Who's on stage one. It also just feels sort of...there. It may be different if like, it was at a concert type venue of some kind?
Watching that Excel Saga one I was thinking, since there's an explosion and fire thing in it, maybe it'd be better with having the explosion noise in it.
The Touch Me one still has that small audio glitch in it and just needs a couple seconds cut off (or I could fix it while I'm doing stuff tomorrow)
The fluffy exploding Full Metal Alchemist one is brilliant.
Upon watching it all...placed where it is I think I re-love my Princess and the Frog one. lol.
Also my production tag isn't in the credits. =p

The screw in the tuna one has made me a believer for now. As of right now, I honestly want to leave it how it is, because it will go exactly one of two ways. It will either make everyone bored and want to go on, or everyone will just start laughing their asses off the longer it stays on (within reason), and honestly, I showed it to a friend who's helped me since I started editing, and he had the latter reaction.
Hehe, right now I'm really looking forward to seeing that clip in AMA to see which direction it'll go ^^ If it starts tanking, it can be shortened, but if the audience is losing it, then we may have killed a strong joke. And to a certain degree, the Library one... if we can't find enough clips of guys walking away from explosions, I actually think it could make a viable substitute for the credits at the length it is somehow...
Speaking of guys walking away from explosions, I don't know all of FMA well enough, but Mustang must walk away from a burning building of some sort during the Ishval rebellion or something? I haven't seen Brotherhood at all, so perhaps that offers more possibility. And Deuce, you took care of the Cowboy Bebop movie, right? And are there any Shounen anime that come to mind potentially? I also know we can toss in the Eva from Evangelion when Unit 01 is walking away from the destroyed angel. I do not have Eva footage readily available though. Nor have I seen the recent movies yet. Anyone able to check?

Re: AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (Post-Production)
I know Edward walks away from his burning house after he sets it on fire so at least there's that.
I'm gonna need EVERYTHING you all have by Monday so I can put the final beta together for AMA.
The Monday after is gonna be crunch time.
And someone remind me to mail in the submission form to Otakon so the stupid lawyers will be happy.
Crap...I'm gonna have to enclose a full list of anime used and that's gonna be a bear to put together.
Let it be known that after uploading the final version of this thing on June 24 I'm gonna crawl into a corner somewhere and let insanity take me as I mumble incoherently about unicorns and glitter...

Re: AMV Salad 5: Happy Meal (Post-Production)
Sorry Deuce, I may have to request until Tuesday to get the final stuff in. I have a seminar I'm leaving on Friday morning and not back until Monday afternoon. I will even be bringing my hard drives, programs, etc. to edit during the nights, but I won't have much time, and I am finishing up one clip right now, plus I still need to up-res Captpan6's little clip (hope to have that done tomorrow night, but I have to go to my encologist and get my brother at the airport). If I'm going to do my own explosion clip I need a day or so more.Deuce Loosely wrote:I know Edward walks away from his burning house after he sets it on fire so at least there's that.

I don't know how you do the credits, but have you been doing a word doc or something and pasting it into a text layer in your program? That would make it far, far easier than editing a layer. Another potential is use photoshop to make an image of the text. It'll be huge, but you can drop it in and do a single move keyframe. Those ways you can more easily copy-and-paste based on moving clips around?
One last thing. I'll spoil what the clip is, because I want to do it... badly... if I were to say i could pull off doing Stein from Soul Eater doing the Bi-Winning Charlie Sheen remix at something like 50 seconds edited, but I could only have it done by the post AMA deadline, would you allow me to do it? I could do it next year, but I think Charlie Sheen's shenanigans would be obsolete by then.
And.. wasn't the form supposed to be submitted at the end of the month...? Please tell me you got something in by that deadline.

You could always instead edit photos of you not looking at an explosion :p
But anyway, I shall get to work editing...well later today at this point.
I know it wasn't in this beta, but I still really wanna get the Lazytown one synced up properly the most. I think it was one of everybody's favorites. The couple other of mine that didn't make it I don't really care about.
I think for me with the library one it's well done but just doesn't really have a punchline. I don't dislike IT, I just don't think it fits in with this.
I know I personally start to loose interest in the Tuna one after "oh the humanity", but we'll see.
Also Deuce do I need to send you my tag again...I just wanted to use the same as last year.

And as a side note...since both Touch Me and the Phantom of the Opera ones are both jokes based on Andrew Lloyd Weber musicals they should probably not be so close lol.
