Beta Three Thoughts:

-4chan memes: OMG! MUCH BETTER! *claps* Very well done. I think it's much funnier this way! Thank you ^_^
-jigglypuff: AHHA! again, i like the editing done with this too ^_^ record scratch was a nice touch!
-While I do like the Library clip shorter...It feels like it starts off too sudden...maybe begin at the beginning of the line rather than half way through "have"..perhaps? just seems abrupt to me, but much better shorter
-Having the tuna clip where it is helps to pick up the energy a bit I think ^_^
-the shortened "You're gay" clip I think works better.
-...snap bra then boom! *chuckles* I loves it ^_^
-I was originally for cutting the princess and the frog clip but ...now it's grown on me. Perhaps if we can fit it in it should be tried at AMA..though still not too fond of the Shera one...


I agree though that this one flows a lot better ^_^ I remember sending you a list of footage used and clip info but can't remember where the list stopped and which new clips weren't added. If you need any sources for the credits Deuce lemme know.

All right, Seminar over, I'm heading to bed soon... exhausted... I'll download the beta as soon as I get home tomorrow and see where we're at. After that, I will be spending the entire day editing. My first step is to up-res Captpan's clip, which should hopefully give us another really good short clip. I only need to find the footage of Kyon's little sister running into the room and then kinda play with blending the effect Captpan used. I have one explosion idea I want to make a desperate attempt to see if it'll work.

The other thing is I need to know which Chobits clip you all liked more so I can make a DV version? I'm partial to the second version myself but I want any of your thoughts on it, improvements or preferences, whatever comes to mind. Only one person recognized I posted it it seemed, so I dunno if it made the beta ^^

Moonbunnychan, the new robot unicorn is really getting there ^^ I think the explosion timing's a tad off, though (like overlapping rather than being one single explosion), and actually... I think the unicorn should go even faster, like twice as fast ^^ Watching it a few times I feel like it could work as like "And live in harmo-BOOOOOOOM" to catch them off guard. The watcher's brain still has enough time to process the joke before it happens. I honestly feel like it'll be stronger if the joke beats the watcher's mind to making the connection, so that the joke's already happened and people are reacting simultaneously to the reference, and the explosion.

My first thought actually was that the explosion used in that test file of 'Breasts displayed in the museum of miniatures' would be much more appropriate, since it'll encompass the whole screen. But I wonder if there might be an even more appropriate one. That shockwave one you have doesn't seem to read as an explosion for some reason. I keep having this image that the funniest explosion in this scenario could be an upward shot of an explosion coming over a cliff edge of some sort, does that make sense? Does anyone know of something like that that exists?

Anyway... time for rest. Look forward to seeing the beta.

My thoughts...while it doesn't particularly bother ME there are a LOT of mine in a row. 4, then one not mine, then mine again. Just thought I'd point that out.
Was a little surprised to see the She-Ra one back. If you wanna run it in the beta to see how it goes that's fine but I kinda agree with cutting it again. Between the two I like the Princess and the Frog one more I think....and I know Sammysamma (and I think somebody else) said they'd liked it. *shrug*
I really think that it's so fluffy alchemist explosion one needs to go last. The gundam one at the end is extremely funny but I think it worked better ending in an explosion. Especially if you use that song, cause it's like *boom*..."These days the whole world's on fire". Also the middle seems kind of explosion-less for the most part.
I think I actually like your sped up version of Robot Unicorn better then mine Deuce. ^_^ (based on the youtube clip above what say the rest of you?)
I think the meme one is better now too, it has a small video glitch right after the though.
I can't remember if there's ever any playing of musical instruments in Spice and Wolf but I think that's the one thing it needs to really ground it and make it golden. As it is they're talking about something you don't see. I love Horo as Slappy though, I could totally see it.

I still think the library one needs...something. I can't quite put my finger on what though.

I also think the Panda one works best in roughly the middle. Not sure why...I guess because it feels almost like an intermission of sorts.


The only one I'm really 100 percent for cutting is the doughnut one.

I like the second one as well, but I still say you could tack an explosion on the end and it would be fantastic!

The rationale Gael and I came up with for placement of those two was that my fluffy alchemist clip was to tie in the explosion and fluffy clip where Gael's was to sort of be a dud ending. You expect it to blow up but because it doesn't it's funny.

Ya....I get it...but I still think it works better the other way. I think coming second to last would actually work even better. Dud, then epic explosion. Like I said, the giant explosion ties in with the song better.

In terms of my library clip, I agree that it should get cut at the beginning of the sentence instead of the middle.


And in terms of my reptar/ greymon clip, I just wanna know if everyone prefers the version with Deuce's audio or the one that's currently in the third beta.

For the Raptar clip, you used the explosion a bit prematurely. It doesn't make sense with that sound coming out of his mouth. You'd just stick with the roar and fire from the source audio. It's right after that that you'd cut to an explosion of some building or whatever and use the explosion audio. In this case, if the roar and fire effect goes on for a bit you can leave those going on under the explosion too and keep the audio cue that he's the reason it happened. And don't use the click noise in the audio since it makes no logical sense with the scene, that's there for if there actually IS a button click ^^ While the click-boom is the intended running gag, you only really need the explosion to make it a unified idea. And did you try letting the explosion sound effect trail off behind the line of dialogue after you show an explosion? Not too early of course so everyone can hear him clearly on top of it, but leave it in behind him and see how that sounds. His dialogue may need to be brought up a bit though so it's clear.

If I don't place your explosion audio immediately after greymon opens his mouth, its gonna seem weird. The original sound of his nova blast attack is pretty soft when compared to your sound effect, so it would sound like a small explosion suddenly being multiplied by ten.

And I'm not sure what you mean by click noise.
