Which, just as a reminder for the future I'm totally capable of hosting stuff should you ever run into megaupload or rapidshare's limits. It slows a bit if a bunch of people are downloading at the same time like with the reaction videos but I don't have any file size limits or bandwidth limits.
And nice that we're more or less leading off the parodies again. Crowd's always bigger at the beginning. Looking at that line up some of those may actually be well worth watching. Whatever came after Salad last year was kind of a room cleaner.

Does Scott know yet if it's going to be in that same room? It seriously had the worst acoustics ever.
Scott was fighting tooth and nail to get it the big room. He wanted this year to be the year of the fans, so he's been doing his damndest to make sure they/we are given the red carpet treatment. The problem last year was of course he brought in classics that had footage adjusted, but not audio adjusted, so the old-school muffled audio was absolutely terrible in conjunction with the room.

He also is an older anime fan, so his perception on anime humor is more nostalgic than ours. Evangelion Redeath works because it doesn't matter if you've seen it, or even older anime. It is a self-contained story. As is his This is Otakudom one. You'd figure he'd know what would clear a room. Of you stuck around for the Gundam one last year, you'd be sad that so few people saw it. It was quite well done. But nothing can explain why he let that piece of shit where the dude just sat in front of a camera tiredly droning on, culminating in a shitty dead guy's horrible rap, made its way through the pre-screening process. That was terrible in just about every way.

This year, I'm going to be trying to make my own fan dub, or at least get started. Until I determine the plot, though, that's a moot point. When I go this year, I'm taking a large hard drive with me since he promised he would give me all of the parodies he has so I can study them. I want to see what works, doesn't, etc. I also love his advice: "Watch the bad ones... all the way through." And I mentioned it before, but if any of you would like to be a part of it, I'd more than welcome the help. I do have to warn you though, I will be as strict as I am here on quality ^^ On myself as well. If I suck, I won't be a voice actor for it. Simple as that.

I've done occasional voice acting parts here and there.
Keep me updated on future developments on that. ;)

Good news, just showed AMVS5 to a couple friends of mine. Not a lot of laughter since it wasn't a big group to really draw it out... except... for Screw in the Tuna :D My friend lost it in a fit of nostalgia and realizing how perfect The King is as the character to have those lines.

Bravo. I got all the proof I needed that it's the perfect length. I'd bet money now that that one will be a big hit at Otakon in a large room :)

Nobody responded to the above.

What does everyone feel about trying to meet once again this year? Hopefully this time my plane won't be so troublesome.

If we can meet, is Thursday good? Or maybe Sunday afternoon as well if people are up for it?

Oh...Thursday is best.
Anytime in the evening.
I'll likely be getting into B'more around 3-4pm.
Dunno where anyone likes to go, though, but I'm game for most anything.

I'm gonna try and make the Thursday thing...no absolute guarantees though.
I'd also really like to try and meet up post Salad on Friday.

They'd better not schedule my panel opposite the premiere like they did two years ago...

This is a different panel than Salad, right?

Anyway, yeah, I guess Thursday night is best for everyone who'll be there I guess. Hopefully most of us will be. My friends and I make it a ritual to go to 5 Guys each year, I'm not sure if anyone's game for that (at least we can meet there, then head somewhere less crowded if we have a large group). I'm not familiar with the area (even after 10 years), so I don't know anything much about the restaurants in the area that are as affordable as that.

As for meeting after Salad on Friday, I'll be there until 1 AM watching all the fanparodies. That's one of my rituals, since it's the only thing that's truly unique to Otakon. None of my friends make it through usually, but I like seeing what everyone does. I've only walked out one year ^^ I'm particularly curious about Dot Wow Signs of Addiction, as it's the guys first try, and he made it over an hour long. He's either quite ambitious, or quite stupid. But the jokes I've heard weren't bad, so I want to give it a shot.

I don't know how you all are doing for Sunday, my flight isn't until 5, so I can be in the area until 3-ish. So perhaps a post-con lunch, unless there's anything particularly special happening at that time. I don't usually find much happening after noon on Sunday. So I guess we should start coordinating when and where is best.

How's 7 PM at 5 Guys work as a start? Should give everyone time to get their prereg tickets and such, right?

Five Guys is good.
My panel two years ago was actually a game show (Live Action Whack-a-Catgirl).
This year it's an hour of the crazy shit they watch on TV in Japan (OMG!..WTF Did I Just Watch? - 18+).
Seriously...not sure what night yet but it's definitely "after hours" fare...
