Ditto, glad you're okay. I've been mugged before in similar circumstances and it's not cowardly to react by being scared/apologetic/quiet. And indeed it's probably a good way to buy yourself time to get out of it.

I hate to be all internet tough guy, but this kind of thing reminds me why I want a concealed carry permit
At least the other passenger was good enough to do what he did, and the CTA folks didn't ignore the situation.
