if this makes you feel better I wasn´t really praising this amv, it´s an "award bait", somehow vcas are most likely popularity meters and this kind of video is almost design as crowd pleasant. I just did the math.
vca has recently gone far away from what I consider "best" (in my humble opinion).

you guys are looking into this way too much... First off, the video wasn't made with "fan pandering" or "pleasing the masses" in mind. The video was created because of Project Editor and we both have wanted to make a video to the song for several years. Second, the video has only won one award and that's a Judge's award... not viewer's. There's a big difference, especially when you start bringing in comments like, "please the masses" or "con video" or even "award bait". If you look at the vote count for the NDK contest, I can bet you that this video was no where near the top of the list for it's category or even the overall Viewer's Choice for Best in Show. The VCAs are MONTHS away and there are far better contenders for best video of the year. Just because one person mentioned "vca" and another mentioned "one of the best" doesn't mean anything. Calm down. A handful of people said they liked the video, that's hardly "through the roof".

Im sorry, I didnt mean to imply this amv was made for that purpose. I mean "this kind of", from my point of view, are able to do so, not Pwolf or Ileia only wanted recognition. I respect both of you, so dont get me wrong, it was a comment over vca more than any intentions over the making of this... what I meant was "this is what people like".

and I like it too. :|

"Award bait", "con video" whatever you wanna label it, we didn't make the video with the Org or any convention in mind. We were paired up in Project Orgeditor, so we made a video. We picked the song we did because it was common ground that we both wanted to make a video with. We picked the anime we did because it was what we already had prepped.

We didn't sit down and think to ourselves "Hmm, how can we pander to an audience?" since it wasn't being made for an audience. It was going to be viewed by a handful of judges, AMV editors, who would not be impressed with "pandering". Submitting to a convention was an afterthought, not the goal. Pwolf was actually going to be at NDK, so we wanted to submit something.

I don't make AMVs for VCAs, or for the awards, or to "top" what I made last. Sure, when every so often I can make a video that is good enough to win an award or two, it makes me happy, but that's not my main goal. I make them because I genuinely enjoy making them, I love the hobby and (usually...) I love the communities. But you guys sure know how to suck the life right out of that.

I personally agree on some level with Bashar and Cenit. I think some of the fades and blackouts were a little unfitting with the music/sync. But it was just a minor point in the overall scheme of things.

That being said, I think it was a fantastic mash-up. The concept and its execution was fantastic, and the overall feeling was great. Extremely fitting and the type of scenes you chose worked well with the music chosen.
x2. I wouldn't say it was a spectacular video but I certainly enjoyed watching it. I tend not to like anime mashes much because they usually lack a solid concept and when I don't see any concept I get a little lost and bored. XDDD But I managed to see the concept this time and it made it all the better. Good job you two and congrats on the win.

 I couldn't agree more.

People take this hobby way too seriously and it is a considerable turn-off for a lot of us who just want to have fun and make the videos we want to make. All of the unnecessary arrogance and elitism is what kept me so withdrawn from this community for years.

It was alright i guess. I would liked it more if it had better transitions between animes but i guess lyric sync kinda "locked it" or it was planned to be made like that. I lub beginning tho D:.
