The only thing I want to mention is that it's a pretty quick transition between :02-:03 and has a lot of scenes. I'd just fade form the hand grabbing in the video game world and fade directily in to her falling. I might reccomend fading between :04 and :05, since that's a pretty big direct cut. I Oh, and please make sure and leave Hideki on screen at the end after the song is over so I can transition into the next part. Also, can we add just a BIT more of the hand holdind at the front end? You can keep the "BAM" moment when your track hits, but I think I need just a little more on the front end. Other than that [and what others mention], I say it's good. :)
I'll work on that! Oh, and of course. For some reason, I figured that was enough to transition at the beginning. :D I'll also add to the end.
CodeZTM wrote: Also, I figured out what the problem with your footage is. Fix this, and I think you might be fine. You've got ridiculously bad dot crawl [or at least i THINK that's what it is, I may be mistaken\. Scintilla's guide should help you out. :) http://www.aquilinestudios.org/avsfilters/dotcrawl.html I'm also assuming you know how to use avisynth. I hope so . :uhoh:
Yeah, I know how to use it! :D

But, when I attempted to fix everything, it gave me errors such as "Script error, there is no function named Checkmate/De/TComb" or "AVISource autodetect: couldn't open file 'C:\Users\Tamara\Desktop\Footage\Chobits\Chibits - Sumomo and Kotoko Deliver' Error code: 2" (I randomly picked something to try it out on.)

I looked online to see what the problem was but everything says that I need the latest stable version of AviSynth and I DO have the latest version, well, the one from the AMVapp.

Ok, two questions.

1) You're using AVISource? didn't you get these from DVDs? Shouldn't this be your .d2v file with MPEGSource2 as your front bit?

2) Can you show us your avisynth script? At the same time, can you tell us what kind of computer you have [32/64 bit? and OS]

3) Go into your program files and locate your avisynth plugin folder. It might be in a weird location.

1) Yeah ;A; My cousin rips DVDs for me (mostly because I messed up ripping School Days a while ago) and converts them to AVI. I didn't think anything of it since the quality was pretty much the same.

2) Sure! :D

a. AviSource("C:\Users\Tamara\Desktop\Footage\Chobits\Chibits - Sumomo and Kotoko Deliver.avi")
TComb(mode=0)
^ That's the first one I tried.

I have a 32 bit computer and I have Windows 7 Home Premium.

3) Found it. Its in the AviSynth 2.5 folder.

Do you have all the plugins in the folder? Go look for ones like TComb and Awarpsharp.

In the meantime, I went and toyed around with it on my end. I'm going to send you a pm within the next few hours and see what you think. It definitely took care of the interlacing and sharpened up the lines/dotcrawl, but I think your source footage itself [the AVI files] might be the biggest problem, since it never had any pre-production done to it. Definitely has blocking issues, but I can't do much about that.

EDIT: OMG. I've got a lot laid out on the editing table, and this whole thing looks really good together. :)
That's the same thing I thought. Despite the sources we used they all mesh well together.
EDIT2: TC. I want to murder your main male lead in your first track. His hair makes me want to stab him violently with the rotobrush. >:|
I loled. Seriously. Because I know how you feel. How long have I been editing with that source?
EDIT3: I have a compilation of tracks 1-6 if anybody is interested.

Looking really awesome so far Code.

Keep up the good work. Now all we need is ICard's and Inan's finals to complete the project.

INAN!!! WHATS YOUR STATUS!!??

Unless Inan's track is the track you guys are splitting. Has Inan turned anything into you Code? I need to get the details before I start PMing him.

And ICard. I personally think your track is ready to go. Any tweaks you need to make, get em done and send the final to Code.

Inan is splitting his track with himself, doing it with two anime. I haven't heard anything since then, and I havent got a beta yet. I am fine With last minute crunching, but the masking of transitions is what worries me.

Anyway, I'm hoping to have another compilation (just missing inan and iCards tracks) for viewing pleasure tonight. :). If not tonight, then definitely tomorrow.

This. Also at 0:04 with the scene of Chii leaning in, there's like this extra scene of them with a...umm...pink and orange colour shadow kinda thing. Might want to edit that out. Also at 0:08 you can see a little lipflap if you look closely. The scene at 0:13 you might want to shift a few frames earlier so it's synced to "side" then you could perhaps use a white fadeout for that scene and into the one at 0:13 so it looks smoother. At 0:19, you should leave that scene in a bit longer so it reaches the end of "sky" and then start the next scene at "can't". Also if you change scenes(just faces in the nearby frames of that clip section) for "Heart, beat and so" it might help emphasize the lyrics more. Then keep the hugging scene for "I can't let you go."

Anyway it's really nice, I love it so far. <3

Compiled track 1-6:
Spoiler :
Love it. if I remember correctly, Hagaren's track ends with the black and white merging together, how about keeping that and then fading in the beginning of Pan's track over it? Also the mask for Jade's Nanoha part seems to have part of her head missing near the beginning.

Cuz then Pan's track would be off sync with the audio.

No I meant keep Pan's track at the same position it is just now and put Hagaren's track on the layer underneath. Then fade in Pan's track over the end of Hagaren's track so you can see both the sync in the sailor moon track and the scene from the pokemon track. Kinda like a fading overlay. It should still keep the sync the same in Pan's track but would make it look smoother and less sharp as a transition between the two.

Edit: Like this-

But then it's just a suggestion, if it looks horrific or screws up the sync then just leave it.
