Which Anime Characters have the Best Death Scene

How can you be sure that Asuka wasn't dead? I don't really care as such, disliking End of Eva as I do, but I was just wondering how you can know?

And Vegeta's first death. Yes, a DBZ death, so sue me.

Vegeta's first death, is that where he's killed by Frieza or when he sacrifices himself? Personally, i think when Majin Vegeta sacrifices himself is the best death, in DBZ that is.

Anyways Auska's death, i mean end to the battle in EOE was pretty wicked, though after what the EVA series did to her, who would really still want to be alive?

That type of thought process tends to make you wonder why Shinji was strangling her, as if maybe he didn't want her to experience life after all this too. But probably not, considering the scenes previous to that.

Oh, and I vote for Wolfwood's death scene. I cried seeing that for the first time too.

I have a long and complicated proof that Rei did not actually die when Unit 00 self-destructed, but I'll keep it to myself because I don't want to start a war.

I'm 99% sure that Asuka died. The first Lance cut her arm clean in half. I see no reason why the other Lances wouldn't cause damage to the pilot as well. And the probability of living after being skewered by 8 lances (the one through the head didn't kill her) is negligible. At the very end of the movie, her eyes sure as hell don't look blue, but all the colors are messed up in that scene anyway so it's hard to say for sure that they're really blue and not just miscolored.

her second body was destroyed and her soul was placed in rei III

even if asuka did die in unit 02 during the battle, if you'll remember both misato and ritsuko died before the eva was torn up and they both were included in instrumentality anyway
