obviously you're not reading what we typed, it's not about how smart you are, it's about the work. You're not doing any as you've just stated and neither did we. Your world history class sounds exactly like mine at that time. And AP classes are easy but nothing like an 8th grade class. I mean as you've just said you're going to end up studying 6 chapters in one day, it all comes down to the end where he's going to expect you all to have done your work, but all your work was is to learn the material. We don't do anything in AP classes either, yet our teachers expect us to do the work. What you don't see is learning the material is not the work, THIRTY FIVE page research papers are the work, and they're not semsterly, they're weekly. It really doesn't matter if you can our can't do the work, the fact of the matter is you have to do it, and in 8th grade you don't. I don't think you could honestly tell me you've ever done a 35 page report. And I myself have done 50 page reports, I had one report when after I binded it together it resembled a short book. I had just reloaded my printer, and I used all of it, every page I put in. Do you undertsand yet, it doens't matter how smart you are?Double O Ninety wrote:Eh, sixteen hundred is easy if you prepare, or pay someone to take it for you, which happens, a lot. Even smart kids do it. Anyway, my mom was valedictorian in high school, college AND law school, and she raised me while doing it. School is easy if it comes natural to you. I think I'd learn more if I home schooled myself. I mean, I actually enjoy reading my World History book, balancing checkbooks, reading literature, and a lot of other acedemic things. However, my classes are a joke. Today, in World History, we ditched the lesson plan and homework just to have a big argument about abortion, Catholics vs. Protestants, priests raping young men, Democrats vs. Republicans, and why Black people and women should be in office. I swear we do the same thing everyday. Right before finals, my teacher is going to realize we skipped six chapters, and we'll have to study them at the last moment. However, I'm a History dork and have read the whole book twice over. There is just something about History... Anyway, I have a question. Everyone loves the Catcher in the Rye. I read it a few years back, and it's nothing special. It's from a viewpoint that we can't trust. A flunkie who tells us everything the way he sees it is probably exxaggerating many situations, and it was not that interesting... I mean, he drops out of school, goes to the city, spends his money, has a prostitute, doesn't do anything with her, gets beat up, goes clubbing, I mean, come on... The only great thing about it is that I got to hear about life during that time...

Ah.. I thought 5.0 was 100% (i'm a public school n00b )
that makes my 3.08 look a lot better
one kid in our class got a 5 point fucking 2 GPA last quarter
another got a 0.5
thing that sucks is I went to private school all my life up until this year and the school I'm in now has a lot higher standards than the private schools I was in for the last few years, so it was kind of hard to adapt. I'm aiming for all A's last quarter especially in those damn honors classes
and NO, HONORS IS NOT EASIER THAN ACADEMIC
not in the damn least, at least not at my school

AHEM. Yes, I've seen my mother (My cat's kssing my arm!) type up seventy five page reports. I am so dropping out. I don't even want a real job. I want to be lazy and sleep all day... Anyway, I know you have to type seventy page reports a lot, but I've heard that it is relatively easy when you have the information. My Comm Arts class involves fifteen page reports pretty often, but that's the most. We spend most of the time in that class writing scripts and shooting short films, anyway... SCHOOL IS SO GAY. I WISH THERE WAS A BOMB TODAY! I really do.

For our geography coursework last year we had people churning out up to 130 pages! And that's not even increasing the font like I do...Jace Tsunami wrote: obviously you're not reading what we typed, it's not about how smart you are, it's about the work. Well, usually honors students read their material, and when they are tested, they get all As. That's why we aren't tested anymore. Acedemic classes get homework, activities, and tests because they don't do the work otherwise. Damnit, another day and I still haven't talked to Jeid! He's so busy lately.RadicalEd0 wrote: and NO, HONORS IS NOT EASIER THAN ACADEMIC

eeeeeerrrrrrr, if you hate school so much stop talking about it!
Madness and genius are seperated only by degrees of success.
I don't think necessity is the mother of invention - invention, in my opinion, arises directly from idleness, possibly from laziness. To save oneself trouble.

double 0 nintey, like I've been saying, it's not about learning, it's about getting work done. Even with my college classes I don't read. There's nothing to be learned I can't bullshit in some 3 page essay question. It's just about doing the 3 page essay question, of about 20.
