has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
Spoiler :
Thanks to kiarrens for coming up with the main title.
The Concept
Over the past few years there's been scores of MEP's done to various popular bands of the week; but no one's ever done a MEP to a classic band (at least not that I've ever been aware of). So I thought to myself, there needs to be a MEP dedicated to the most influential band in modern history, The Beatles. So here we are.
Those of you pretty familiar with The Beatles probably know what I mean when I say “The Medley”. For those of you who aren't, I'm not meaning several popular Beatles songs strung together; but the series of songs on the second half of Abbey Road, starting with “You Never Give Me Your Money” and continuing through “The End”. All eight songs were recorded so that they all blended into each other. Hence, they came to be commonly referred to as “The Medley”.
The “Mix”
The .wav files of all eight songs can be found here. The rips were taken from the remastered version of Abbey Road.
The Rules
You can use any anime (and this includes hentai) and any number of sources you wish. However, remotely gratuitous scenes of violence and explicit sex are out of the question. Org acceptable levels of nudity and sex are fine though. The same source can be used in multiple tracks, so don't be worried if someone's already using it in their track. However, if a source becomes massively overused, I may ban it from being used in later claimed tracks.
Additionally, you can incorporate any Beatles footage (be it live action or animated) into your track; though the majority of your track must still be anime. And yes, that does include Beatles: Rock Band; but I don't want to see tracks mainly comprising of game footage from the corresponding song. That just seems kind of lazy and defeats the purpose of the MEP, don't you think?
Given the numerous tonal shifts in The Medley, there isn't going to be any unifying theme for the MEP (other than The Beatles, of course). So acceptable track themes include light-hearted/upbeat, psychedelic, romance, comedy, experimental, slice of life, mellow, light action, etc. Basically, just something that actually fits the track.
As of right now, this project's going to be just one track per editor. If it looks like there's not going to be a large amount of interest, I'll open it up for people to edit more than one track. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Although it's not a rule or a requirement, it'd probably be a good idea to talk to whoever's editing the tracks adjacent to your own and see how your tracks are going to flow together.
The Schedule
If you'd like to take a track, just send me a pm with what track you want, what source(s) you're using, and a rough idea of what you're going to do with the track. If you're still fleshing out your idea for the track, that's fine too.
Now that you've sat and read through all of my rambling, here's the track list:
UPDATED Track List

Update (1/24/12): Latest post has a possible framework for the MEP's schedule.
