AMV Intros

I wasnt exactly sure where to put this, i figured this would be the spot, and i ran a search for the subject before posting but couldnt seem to find anything.

what i was wondering, is how to make an intro, id like to make an amv, but want an intro first, i made a few amvs a long time ago, they were pretty simple, it was with the old windows movie maker lol, but now im using adobe elements and i have no idea where to start.

any help would be appreciated, if this isnt in the right area i apologize.

What exactly are you wanting to know? How to operate Elements? How to make your video? How to make an intro (I'm reading it as bumper) with your credit information or tips on how to start your video?

A bit more clarification here should help us possibly help you.

well, i think i get the gist of elements so far, but ive never really understood how they did the credits and stuff in the videos, like for example nostromos galaxy bounce.

A lot of that if you're talking in line with Nostromo credits is effects related. Not sure if you can pull a lot of that off in Elements (never used elements) but I doubt it considering much of it can't be done with premier pro. If that's what you looking to try to do or emulate, the effects forum would be better suited to your question.

However, generally intros or bumpers really are all about how fancy you want to get. It's basically just a way to put your credits in the video so the viewer knows who made it, the song, ect. and in the end it really isn't needed TBH. For me what I do usually all depends on the video, though generally I prefer credits at the end of the video. For my speed racer vid I actually put the credits in the opening segment similar to how a movie would integrate the credits into the opening scene. It required using text, multiple effects such as movement, position, ect and time to tweak it and get it to look right.

Personally, I'd much rather spend more time getting to know my NLE and the basic techniques required to make my videos then to try to spend that much effort on credits.

You are going to need track movement capabilities to do what nostromo does.

....My intro/bumpers are done in photoshop, and are just a still image, not so fancy. >.>

you do have a point, i just thought it looked really neat the way he did it, but the way you are talking about would be pretty cool too, just want to do credits that kind of match up with the amv, i remember back when i was using movie maker, the one thing i hated was the fact that you had to make your creds the blue screen with a set font and coloring.
im trying to avoid that by any means possible lol.

I'm pretty sure he uses After Effects and some other stuff too. You can't track movement in premier (that I know of) and AE is designed to do that kind of stuff.

You can kind of pull off the effect in premier, but you have to basically fake motion tracking. Takes a lot of time to tweak it just right.

also i think you're right about the after effects thing, after effects looks pretty cool, i saw so much more tutorial stuff on AE than i could find on elements.

If you are handy with photoshop/the gimp you can do static bumpers in wmm - just gotta import the image...

if you wanna do something like nostromo does then learn after effects... if you don't mind it being slightly less clean Vegas (pro version) can handle track motion effects.

i am infact, im very familiar with gimp, unfortunately, not familiar with the gif creation part of gimp
yes i was also curious about vegas, it looks really.... mm... whats the word im looking for... idk i guess it looks a bit more complexed than elements, im not to sure how quickly id catch on to it.
now im looking for something that analyzes scenes faster too, ive come to realize that elements seems to take forever and a day to cut scenes.
any ideas thar?
