Story: high school girl goes to becoming an engineer.

Really excited about this, just so bored of Shinkai love stories so am glad he is trying to do different things now - the recently released one a more fantasy type of story whereas this one is slice of life.

I'm not sure how 'different' this looks from his usual fare. There's an awful lot of typical shinkaifagging and trains in that 30 seconds.
But we can hope! And the animation is freaking gorgeous as always.

I think he should take more risks with his art style. It's like the same sunset scenery and lots of cherry blossoms all over again >_>

Well this looks lovely! It looks like he's putting more detail into his character's designs this time around.
While I'm also all for a Shinkai story that isn't focused around love, I just hope that it doesn't encompass so much that everything feels too squished together like Children's Lost Voices.
