I just love the whole concept of putting anime and music together. I first saw AMVs in the late 90s and I just had to make them.
Editing is my creative outlet and it's a lot of fun.

Re: Why do YOU Edit
I just started getting into editing. For the longest time Ive always enjoyed and admired AMV's than after awhile I started getting ideas in my head
for them.. even though I didn't edit only watched. It began bothering me so much I had to do something about it. Here I am now trying to make my own AMV's.
So basically I do it because It gives me something to do when I'm bored, keeps my mind occupied and gives those ideas somewhere to go.

This, very much a lot.Otohiko wrote:Because other people don't make things I want to see.
But that's only part-reason, obviously.
I've been making AMV's since 2005 and been editing film since 2009.
For AMV's I do it because I find it amazingly entertaining once an idea click and you have resources to pull it off. I enjoy seeing my magic lay down on the timeline and create the visions I've had.
For film the editing process is not as fun, but is extremely important - it takes longer than AMV editing, but is entertaining as you control the pace and feel of the contet there is, in a whole other way
than for AMV's.
I edit and make videos as one of my many creative-outlet's.
And I appreciate Manga, Anime and Music since back when I was only 6-7 years old.
So when I found AMV's it just felt obvious I'd give it a try - And I am very glad I did.

Re: Why do YOU Edit
It is a creative outlet for me because basically I can do whatever I want. At school and at work there are always guidelines and limitations, so I really like the feeling of being free in my creativity.

Re: Why do YOU Edit
Suppose everything to do with anime keeps me editing.
I like to meet and talk to new editors all the time.
I enjoy watching anime, AMV's, etc.
Fun hobby to relieve stress.
Creativity & imagination needed to create some really interesting ideas.
Competition in Cons/Contest is mega fun for me.
Editing Graphics with anime in them.
Big ideas other editors pull off that I really love.
Regardless of how many projects I start or drop. Everything sparks something new in my mind that I must attempt to edit whether I can pull it off or not. Its just fun to try, and see what you can create (as well as others).
