Re: Attack! (From End To Beginning)
An exceptionally good .hack video, for sure, if not the best I've seen.
You don't see a lot of these scenes in your typical .hack amv, and it provided a lot more interest to the characters.
The verses from :11-:33 and :57-1:08 were great; the sync was solid and it had a lot of impact. Scene selection was superb, and it really made me interested in what was happening. The bit from 1:09-1:12 was the only part in the entire video I didn't like; it was a bit disrupting to what you had going what with the random bit of fighting. 1:25-1:41, I was beginning to think the action a bit tedious, as I didn't really know what was going on and it didn't seem too relevant, but it was quickly gotten over on my part.
Everything else was pretty much solid. The pacing was spot on, the action parts were actually interesting, because you built character depth in the slower parts of the amv, and even in the faster parts. Atmosphere was great. Editing was simple, as it should have been. No crazy effects or anything, seemed like you were mostly reliant on the motion of the clips to create impact, which you don't see a lot of nowadays; people feel the need to overload it with crappy flashes and the such.
Just, good.

Good stuff Monstro. I loved the fast paced part that started at 1:20 and the verses built up very well to the choruses. Again, I just think the very end could've been a little better and I didn't really like the transitions like at 0:16 and 0:21, but still great editing.

Thanks for the fairly detailed and insightful opinion.Taite wrote:An exceptionally good .hack video, for sure, if not the best I've seen.

The banner is beastly, and as for the transitions you mentioned I should definitely improve them or replace them with something else in my future vids.Dax wrote:Good stuff Monstro. Re: Attack! (From End To Beginning)
Haven't really seen much videos using this source as I don't usually like graphics like this but I kinda liked this. I thought the strongest part of this was how you kept the motion continuous and running by very precise fading. It looks easier than it actually is.

Right you are about the fades, they can get tricky sometimes. Anyways, It's cool you were able to enjoy it somewhat even though you don't like this particular source.Emong wrote:Haven't really seen much videos using this source as I don't usually like graphics like this but I kinda liked this. ah crap, i almost forgot to comment
extremely enjoyable man, pretty great pacing, the scene selection was pretty standard and rudimentary though, so that was kindofa turnoff but it saved it from just being totally random i guess. 4/5
