Videos You Regret Not Finishing

I don't know if there's ever been a thread like this, but I don't remember seeing one. Title is pretty self explanitory, any videos you started and kind of just got sick of working on or got swept under the rug that you really wish you would have completed. If you've got betas, post 'em. That'd be cool.

Oh man, it was awesome. It was Gravitation to Somebody Told Me. I had a 3D stage rendered up in After Effects, lights, audience, I rotoscopped out Nittle Grasper and put them on the stage. It was going to be great, with Nittle Grasper on stage and various scenes from other yaoi animes otherwise. There was even a giant LCD screen at the back of the stage, showing scenes from those yaoi animes behind the band.

...Then... At about the 2:10 mark... I just ran out of ideas. It was great but it was only half done, no matter what I tried after that mark I felt really 'Myeh' about it. I backburnered it, and eventually the project files were lost in a 'reformat accident', and while I recovered much data, that wasn't recovered. I still had most of the WIPs to prove I'd gotten that far, but every last trace of the video was lost in Spring 2011 when I had another HDD failure that just whipped out everything.

I use RAID1 now.

I started it a long time ago, but for some reason stopped working on it and moved on.

I had 5 unfinished videos in 2001, but I recently remastered them with dvd footage last year.

I'm extremely happy not to have any unfinished videos, but I do have a ton of scrapped ideas.

i have a bunch of betas atm, and i sort of plan on finishing them, like they're not officially "scrapped" but if we're bein real here, 2 or 3 of em might get a bit more work done but none of them will be finished

For a 20 second clip I dunno why its so popular and I get PMed about once a week asking when/if I'm going to finish it.

I have a ton of unfinished videos/ideas. Some I may finish, others I may not. For me I edit in moods so when the mood hits me for a certain video that's what I edit. However there have been 2 videos that I had to abandon due to a hard drive crash that I rather regret never having finished. 1 due to not being able to find the footage used and the other because I've never gotten around to actually re-ripping the footage and starting it again.


Yes, this is in fact a beta copy. I lost all my source material in a hard drive crash (well, click of death) and no matter how much I scour I can't find all the footage I used, let alone the footage I had that I didn't use and would have replaced certain clips with...

The other is a Porco Rosso vid that when I hear the song I still see the clips in my head... I just have a hard time getting into the mood to edit drama anymore...

but I don't regret them, I just didn't feel like editing or if they were close enough to what I actually wanted. so it's better to move foward.
