It was to the point of being ridiculous, like when I went in for a root canal and they gave me THREE shots to numb my mouth and I could still feel it when the dentist began to drill. They never figured it out and I didn't have money to waste on it (nor do I now), and I'd rather save medication usage for times when I might actually need it (like the dentist. :uhoh: )
Hmmm... that is perplexing.... Wish I could remember the herbal remedies I was recommended....

As for diet, try to stay away from (or limit usage) anything with caffeine in it (including chocolate) and cheese (there are a lot of others, but these are the biggest triggers that I can remember.) And also try to limit environmental triggers such as strong smells, bright lights, loud noises, and stress.

Best advice I can give right now, and you probably already have been told it. Good luck.

I have an old high school friend that goes through a lot of migraines as well, so bad they put her in the hospital (sometimes days on end). She too has had head scans, blood tests, everything and its found nothing... And my boyfriend gets really bad migraines as well where he just can`t function, drive and will pass out sometimes. I am not sure if its all mostly the same, but I do know my boyfriend has prescribed medication specifically for this. Its supposed to be really heavy painkillers pretty much and he doesn't take them unless its so bad he can`t take it anymore. I`m not sure if there is a name for this or not, but its just what his sister-in-law gave him and shes a doctor.

As for what ngsilver said, it can definitely help. I have suffered from diagnosed IBS for about 2.5 years now. I get a lot of headaches, sometimes migraines, nausea, etc and really working on a balanced diet helps. Keeps me balanced and when I fall off just a little I always get really sick so I can tell the difference it makes. I know its hard to always eat a balanced diet, but cutting of things here and there, taking vitamins (if you don`t) can help, and may help you a little.

went to bed early last night/this morning (i work nights) so I could get up early and get stuff done. Was able to get up early, but got nothing done. all day. Not to say I didn't try, just didn't actually keep anything in the end.

The length measures are the only ones that really don't have much computational rationale. Fahrenheit and the calendar system differences are ultimately based on different information being considered more important.

That said, and I don't know how well known this is in other parts of the world, but the US is actually under a hybrid system that uses both traditional and metric measurements simultaneously (civilian use usually defaults to traditional and Medical/Scientific/Military use to metric, but even in civilian use the two systems are nearly always shown together on consumer products, and certain types of products* are majority-metric). And in the case of the calendar, when a sequential date format is used here, it's YYYY-MM-DD.

*For instance, soft drinks always come by the 2-liter (although cans and smaller bottles are sized by the fluid ounce, with slightly larger 1-liter bottles in place of a quart). And since medical usage is metric, medicine is always measured in grams and milliliters.

Why do I watch House M.D.? It's supposed to be a good, thought provoking series but always ends up promoting the most ridiculous misanthropic ideas. For example, the episode I'm watching now, a quote:

"We all have our family dysfunction. That's why we're successful, to fill that hole"

C'mon! You can't find a developmental psychologist who would agree with that.

Gotta love how you need someone to sign something at the last minute, but is stuck in meetings all day. After that, the person goes home after lunch.

I did really well during a job interview (see the why are you in a good mood thread) but I have some reservations about the job. Well, not so much the job but the work environment. I'm confident I can do the work and do it well I just don't know if I will fit in there. There are a couple reasons. First, its a small/medium corporate business vs. a government/enterprise organization. I'm so used to the local government work life style that I feel rather out of place. Second, it's a smaller shop. I'm currently working in an office with 9 other IT people. We don't all do the same job but the atmosphere in the office is about the same. The job I interviewed for is a 2 man shop. I would essentially be the Help Desk for the whole company. Its not so much being able to talk to other people about issues and such but having those people around you. The environment im in now feels more welcome and easier to work in. And lastly, the new place feels a bit more "fancy". It's way more "Business" than the "Business Casual" I'm used to. It feels too corporate. I don't necessarily know if that's a good thing for me or not.

I guess the hard part, or the thing I'm thinking about over and over in my head is how do I know if this is going to work or not? I'm happy where I am now but I either need a decent raise, or full time status. Full time status isn't going to happen any time soon by the looks of it. A raise would need to be decent as well. I don't want to be miserable and I don't know if my reservations about this job (or any other in the future) are genuine or are some subconscious fear of change. I think things would be different if I had no job or I hate where I worked. But, I have a job and I love it... just want to get more money.

If anything, I don't have to take the job if it's offered to me. How does one decline a job offer based on not feeling like they will fit in?
