Re: 5 Centimeters Per Second "Hello Again"- The Gregory Brot
Hmm, it's good, but it's not something that made me go "Holy sh-balls that was amazing." I do have to say that song fits the movie well, and you did a great job portraying the whole story of those two in the amv, but it just needed a wow factor. With the sync, I feel that you should have kept the upbeat sync you used in 0:19-0:21, it just appealed to me better. Some clips might have been a little long, and the video might have been better with a little more upbeat sync pattern, but that's just my personal preference. But the goal of your amv, from what I see, was achieved and the outcome is pretty neat :3
Also, do you have the creditless ending for 5cm? I've been looking for it for a really long time but I can't find it anywhere. ;_;

The problem here was like:
Anime music combination is good, but before this one I have seen other 300 amvs with this source nor to mention that it was lacking a kind of climax so that I could get into it
It was good though

I pretty much felt the same way. It was pretty soild editing, but its just one of those sources thats hard to make feel really fresh.TritioAFB wrote:The problem here was like:

Thanks for the comments everyone
Yeah, it was definitely hard to make this AMV feel "fresh" as it's one of those sources that just gets overused. I just had to make it after hearing the song though. And really, compared to my other AMVs, this one is a black sheep (I tend to use pretty obscure sources a lot of the time... at least since my DBZ/Naruto days, but cut me some slack, I was a teenager )
If you haven't seen my last AMV "You've Been Shot", check it out below. I think it shows more originality and I'm more proud of it.
Not trying to defend the faults of "Hello Again", it is what it is. A solid AMV with a concise theme but overused source footage. I submitted both of these videos to Anime Boston, and I'll bet anyone that "Hello Again" will do better than "You've Been Shot" (assuming they both make finals). A video like "Hello Again" is one the audience will appreciate more (overused footage has an advantage in this case). I'm glad AMV editors can also appreciate it though.
