For only pennies a day, you can help these poor schlubs get laid. Call the number on your screen now.

Re: Vent Thread
I got a 72% today on a test on DOS Edit. I got the second highest mark in the class, the average being a 60%. No one expected it to be this in-depth. When and why am I ever going to use Dos edit, and if for any reason I do, when am I not going to have either my textbook or online resources with me to help me as I use it? We've got some experience with it in the labs, I'm pretty sure that's enough. The crap that my networking/os teacher feels the need to teach us annoys me sometimes. It's like he's stuck in the 90s. Yes, a lot of these applications may be useful. Yes, command line commands are absolutely useful. But all these outdated, hardly used programs? No. Teach us something useful or don't waste our time... Really? Dos edit?
That was a dumb rant. I have a headache.

Re: Vent Thread
I'm not saying that people don't have the right to be sad about things. People have the right to feel whatever about whatever they want (thank you Carebears).
I'm just saying that hearing it over and over gets tiresome especially when some people persist with the hate year after year. I've heard the same complaints about Valentines day for over 20 years.
And just as people have the right to vent about things they don't like in here, I think it's perfectly valid for people to vent about people hating on something they happen to enjoy.

Alright, I can subscribe to that view. And trust me, like I said, I consider my own bitching to be rather petty and tiresome to begin with, so I don't blame people for being tired of that sort of thing
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'm also not saying that feeling bad on the day isn't a valid way to feel and if you're going to vent about it, this is the place to do it. I guess my view on it is that when you feel sad/down/lonely/insecure about something, you can try and view it in a way that can make you feel better. Having those feelings are a part of life but that doesn't mean you can't try and make yourself feel better, hense why I've always viewed it as a day to celebrate all types of love, not just significant others.
I've just never met someone who wants to feel negative feelings more then happy ones, so taking a positive outlook on something that makes you feel bad, being able to spin a day that could make you feel bad into into one that can make you happy, is a good thing.

Re: Vent Thread
Well finally stood up for myself tonight. Editing is not addiction it's called my creative outlet time and I hate when I'm told that I'm not allowed to make AMVs.....
I dunno.....I have responsiblities and I'm not on the computer all day so I fail to see the addiction.

Re: Vent Thread
There is such a thing as a healthy addiction. An addiction is only a problem when it starts to dictate your life.
