Question, VCA vote counts anywhere?

Hi,

first post and possibly stupid question but I was unable to find an answer so far.
Can VCA vote counts be found anywhere?

I'd love to see how my choices in semifinals and finals compare to others.

they're in the 6-13 range for the winners, 0 or 1 for the rest. i think pencilhead got 14 :O

Sorry, is that like insider information? I just don't get the reason why the vote counts are not visible.

I'd just like to see how much my taste is distanced from majority

I'm pretty sure he just made up those numbers. But you're right about it being "insider information", they've never shown us the vote counts in previous years, I doubt they will this year.

Was there ever any hint on why they don't release the numbers?

Btw Ileia I'm hoping I'm not minority on picking you for editor of the year. Part of the reason I'd like to see the numbers is that some of your amvs, that I nominated for finals, didn't get through and I'd like to know if I'm crazy or what?

It's not really intentional, it's pretty much a site legacy issue. There's no easy way for us to republish this information due to the way the VCAs were originally coded. Even I, the coordinator, don't get to see every vote cast, only the higher-end ones that eventually get moved into the Semis, then the Finals.

I feel the same way as you do -- everyone should at least be able to see the breakdown of the video votes. It's one of those things we'll definitely address when that part of the site updates begin.

I'm sure they're all visible to the right SQL query. I figured nobody bothered to try because that'd reveal how low turnout was and destroy the magic.
