Re: AMV-France Online Contest
but like with the weekly thing. say a low tier video gets 20 votes because it's in a dry week, and a mid tier video gets 12 votes because it's in a more competitive week, does the low tier video win because it got more votes?Kain-x-spirits wrote:Oh ok. People vote for their favorite videos in each category. The video with the most vote for the public prize will be the public prize... And for the categories (ction, dance, etc.), the videos with more vote will get more chance to be the winner of the category, but the final decision for this is up to the judges.
also, are the videos being shown randomly or in order of submission? and what do votes matter if it's up to the judges at the end? not complaining just insanely curious, feel free to shut me up.

The judge will get a better idea of what kind of video people would classify in action or romance for example, and that's why there's these nomitations.gote wrote:but like with the weekly thing. say a low tier video gets 20 votes because it's in a dry week, and a mid tier video gets 12 votes because it's in a more competitive week, does the low tier video win because it got more votes?

But yeah, the judge will decide of the final results, because it would be unfair if it's a more competitive week on a category, or something like that.
Well, it's not a good way to say that, but you make the dirty work for the judges xD They won't have to think about if a video would fit a category or not, and it undoubtedly help to make a choice.
It's like a pre-selection, if you want.
And for the public prize, yeah it can be unfair. If people agree that a video is the best this week, and that the week after the best video has even more vote, that makes this video better i think. (And that's why i let the choice of voting for 3 videos, if it's a more competitive week, at least you're not limited to one vid)
But I totally agree, I should have explain this aspect of the vote earlier. And this was what I decided, and i'm aware it was not a perfect way of doing the thing, but it was the one that let me handle the thing like i wanted, and without troubled too much the editors.
And nop, there not shown randomly, I try to respect the order of submission (except if there special demands), and i also try not to make follow 2 videos with the same anime.

Re: AMV-France Online Contest
wait so, public prize is week1 bad vid 28 > week2 good vid 14? probably exaggeration but why not vote at the end out of the videos with the most votes, like the top video of each week moves on to the final round.
but thanks for the elaboration, cool way of classifying vids imo.

How many entries were there? I'm wondering how long we have to wait before we see all the videos...

Because I prefer take the anonymity in consideration for the vote, and I also wanted to reveal the identity of each editors when a week end ('cause i know it can be annoying to wait to publish his amvs on the net, and even more when it can be uploaded -without your name- before you upload it yourself )gote wrote:wait so, public prize is week1 bad vid 28 > week2 good vid 14? probably exaggeration but why not vote at the end out of the videos with the most votes, like the top video of each week moves on to the final round.
And there's 39 entries.
